From Virtual to Real: Marrying the Man Who Has been Online for Three Years

After three years of dating online, Joyce convinces me to finally demand a photo from my elusive boyfriend. When he repeatedly declines, I playfully tease him, asking if he is secretly a bald, middle-aged man. Instantly, my phone explodes with a barrage of photos showcasing his incredibly toned chest and abdominal muscles. Challenging me with a smirk, he asks if I am satisfied. Smiling, I text back that they look so perfect, the only way to believe they are real is to touch them myself.

Chapter 3

The corners of Howard's mouth curled up slightly, "Oh, I see. You're so sweet and beautiful. Your boyfriend must be very good to you, and you must have a good relationship with him."

I was silent for a moment, "Maybe not."

Howard frowned. When I thought of the boy I saw today, I felt a little sad. I wanted to leave, but Joyce grabbed my hand and said, "Since you and Howard are friends now, ask for his WhatsApp."

Howard's gaze fell on my face. After a while, he said, "Okay."

His profile picture was a smiling face, and its eyes, one was big, and the other was small, making it look ugly but cute. I glanced at him quickly and didn't take it to heart. After all, Howard and I met by chance. I might not see him again.

That night, I sent a message to my boyfriend.

I decided that if he was willing to tell me the truth, I would forgive him. If he continued to lie to me, I would definitely teach him a lesson!

I: [Hi there. I'd like to see how fit you are recently.]

He replied in a few photos, [Honey, what do you think?]

I clicked to see his muscles, broad shoulders and lean waist. The second photo was even sexier. In the photo, he was holding the dumbbell. The abs could be seen clearly, and even the sweat on his body made him look so hot. There was a familiar red mole on the other his waist.

Yes, it was this small red mole. I had never suspected that he had used fake photos to deceive me. At this point, it seemed that he was a catfish indeed. I guessed that he had stolen the photos from someone.

  I: [You look good.]

I: [Somehow, I've read so many stories about catfish online recently. You haven't sent fake photos to me, right?]

Little Stone was my boyfriend's nickname online. I had once joked that my heart for him would never change. He was very happy to hear my sweet talk.

Little Stone: [ Never. That's my own body. I swear to God.]

Humph, if I hadn't seen him with my own eyes, I would have believed it!

[Really? Then how about we meeting in real life?]

He was typing. After a while, he still did not reply.

  I: [What's wrong?]

Little Stone: [But my muscles haven't been in the best. I want you to see the best me.]

I typed expressionlessly, [All right, I hope to meet you soon.]

  Little Stone: [ Okay.]

I looked up at Joyce, and she seemed to have known it long ago, "I knew it. The scumbag will never meet you face to face!

But don't worry, I've already found out who he is."

The information was sent to me quickly. I clicked on it and was stunned to find that my boyfriend was also a student of University of Alaska. Joyce said, "What a coincidence. he is from the finance department. I've heard from his acquaintances that he and his roommates go to eat barbecue every Saturday after playing basketball."

I couldn't believe it. "His figure... It really doesn't seem like he has the habit of playing basketball."

Joyce shrugged her shoulders in confusion. My gaze fell on the message that he was still training his muscles. I sneered and said, "Okay, then let's go and see if we can meet him this Saturday!"

On Saturday, I took Joyce to the barbecue restaurant, thinking we could also have a big meal after kicking his ass.

It sounded nice. Unfortunately, it would take us three hours to wait for a table.

Damn! Just as I was dumbfounded, I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

  "Olivia?"
