Chapter 1

After sending my daughter, Linda, to school, I went home to get files for a meeting.

My sister-in-law, Larissa, spoke through the door.

"Kellan, I didn't lie to you. My best friend is a beautiful, kind-hearted, and rich woman. She likes you wholeheartedly. Isn't she better than that ugly-looking Natalya Patton?"

My mother-in-law, Emery chimed in from the side, saying, "I didn't agree to their marriage in the first place, but you insisted on marrying her! In my opinion, you should divorce her!"

I stood at the door, trembling all over. I was hoping that my husband, Kellan, would speak up for me.

Unexpectedly, he spoke in disdain.

"I've long wanted to divorce her, but we two have saved over 200 thousand dollars over the years. How about we figure out a way to kick her out and leave her with nothing?"

I divorced him in anger, and they happily welcomed a new life.

But I didn't expect that the so-called rich woman and Larissa's best friend was a scammer.

He fell into a romance trap!

---

I stood at the door. Hearing their conspiracy, I was heartbroken.

My hand holding the keys kept trembling. Despite standing on land, I felt like I was suffocating from being submerged in water.

For seven years of our marriage, I always thought my family was a happy one.

Kellan was handsome and considerate. Linda was well-behaved and cute. Emery and Larissa were somewhat nosy.

But no family in the world was perfect.

"If it weren't for the fact that I had been in a hurry to send Linda off and left the company documents at home today…”

"I wouldn't have known that the perfect family in my eyes was so dirty and filthy behind the scenes!"

I calmed myself down at the door and fumblingly opened the door.

Seeing me coming back, they were startled. Larissa even patted her chest and scolded me with a frown.

"Are you not a human? Can't you make any noise when you come home?"

Kellan subconsciously stopped her and said, "How can you talk to your sister-in-law like this?"

He laughed nervously and asked me, "Didn't you go to work? Why are you back now?"

I changed my shoes at the door and glanced at them. Emery sneered, saying, "She must have taken a day off. She only earns a little money and often takes leave. This family relies on my son to support it. What's the use of having a wife like you?"

I threw the keys on the shoe cabinet and retorted, "What about your useful son? Why didn't he go to the company?"

I looked at my husband, Kellan, and said, "I asked you to get up early and send Linda to school. You told me you had to leave early, saying that you were busy in the company. Why are you still at home now?"

He dressed up well today, wearing a suit and tie and putting wax on his hair. It was evident that he had deliberately gone out to dress himself up.

He became even more nervous at my words.

Larissa interjected, saying, "My friend is coming today. We must entertain a guest at home!"

I looked at Kellan and sarcastically thought, "Oh, welcoming guests at home? Those who don't know the details will think he wants to present himself to someone!"

I smiled sarcastically and said to Kellan, "Oh, we have guests at home. Why didn't you tell me?"

He frowned subconsciously, saying, "It's Larissa's friend. You don't need to worry about it."

I asked, "Then what does it have to do with you?"

Kellan was choked, wondering what to say. Emery couldn't stand it anymore, saying, "He is your husband, not a criminal. Who are you questioning him with every word?"
