Love's Last Goodbye: Never Wanting to See You Again
Chapter 4
Bryce was taken aback that I was actually bringing up divorce. Upon seeing the papers, he instantly grew furious.
"Patricia, have you lost your mind?"
Without a second thought, he tore the divorce papers to shreds, staring at me in anger. "I overestimated you, thinking you came to apologize. Are you actually threatening me? I won't be threatened, nor will I divorce. You can give up on that!"
With tears in her eyes, Heather grabbed my sleeve. "Patricia, can't guys talk this out nicely? Why provoke a temper and bring up divorce so casually? Bryce is so good. Anyone marrying him would be the luckiest. How could you hurt him like this!"
Her words only fueled the fire. Bryce immediately embraced Heather. "Don't beg her. I've been too nice to her lately!"
I sneered back at him. "Bryce, you're disgusting!"
Then I turned to Heather. "If you like Bryce so much, take this luck for yourself. You two are thick-skinned enough, perfectly matched!"
Heather immediately began to cry. "Patricia, there is nothing between us. You can't say that about Bryce. He's just a good friend!"
Though she claimed just friends, her eyes filled with love told a different story.
I only felt repulsive hearing her bitchy words, so I asked sharply, "Oh, good friends, the kind that cuddles in the middle of the night?"
Heather was at a loss for words while Bryce's expression darkened. "Why do you have to speak so vulgarly?"
I coldly replied, "It's your actions that are ugly!"
It was said that the fly didn't land on a seamless egg. Heather was a schemer, loving to play ambiguous games with Bryce. If Bryce had no feelings for her, last night wouldn't have happened.
Bryce wanted to scold me, but Heather tugged at his sleeve. "Bryce, let it go. Let's bury Noah first, and then you can go back with Patricia. I don't want you fighting with her because of me."
She posed like a fragile flower in the wind, and Bryce, as always, fell for it.
He agreed and then stared at me. "Wait here for me. We'll settle this later."
