Chapter 5

I wasn't interested in dealing with him anymore. I picked up the urn next to me, just wanting to go bury my mom first.

But Heather blocked me, saying, "That urn is so pretty. It matches my Noah. Bryce, I want this one!"

She had already made her request to Bryce and then pretentiously asked me, "Patricia, can you give me this urn?"

I dodged her hand and snapped, "Heather, are you sick? Do you want to snatch everything you see? First men, now an urn? Have you been in the gutter so long you've started to act like a rat, thinking you'll die if you stopped being so vile?"

Heather was taken aback by my scolding, just standing there, crying and trying to explain, "I'm not, Patricia. Why would you think that of me..."

I was completely disgusted by her antics. It was Bryce's business if he indulged her, but I didn't want to waste more words on such people.

But before I could leave with the urn, Bryce stopped me again.

"It's just an urn. Why so stingy? Hand it over!"

He reached for it, but I sidestepped and kicked him. "If you're both sick, you should group up and go to the neurology department. Maybe you can even get a group discount. Don't come disgust me. Get lost!"

But Bryce didn't leave. Instead, he grabbed me and snatched the urn away!

"You're the one who's sick. Why would you hold onto an urn, planning to bring it home to disgust me?"

He was convinced I was crazy and tried to hand it to Heather without a second thought.

I quickly reached to grab it back, my voice turning into a scream. "Give it back to me!"

Bryce refused, even after I hit him several times. He pushed me to the ground. "It's just an urn. Why are you so attached to it?"

Struggling to get up, I desperately tried to retrieve the urn. "Bryce, you bastard, give it back to me! It's my mother's urn..."
