Chapter 3

After selecting an urn for my mother, I stuffed a printed divorce agreement into my bag.

My love had died long ago, and my marriage had reached its end.

Unexpectedly, I ran into Bryce at the crematorium.

I had just finished placing my mother's ashes when I saw him walk in, arm around Heather.

Heather was still sobbing. "Noah only lived a little over a month. It's so sad, Bryce. It really hurts. Can you stay with me a bit longer..."

Her crying continued while Bryce's voice was unusually gentle.

"Heather, don't be upset. I'm here with you."

I watched them coldly without saying a word until Heather saw me first.

"Patricia, what are you doing here?"

Clutching a small pet's box, she nervously explained, "Don't get me wrong. I didn't mean to have Bryce accompany me. Don't blame him..."

Before I could speak, she preemptively accused me, and I scoffed, asking, "What is there to misunderstand?"

Seeing me, Bryce looked a bit guilty at first, but after hearing my comment, he frowned. "Patricia, cut out the sarcasm. I'm just here to bury her pet. What are you doing at the crematorium?"

He paused, his face growing more distressed. "Are you following me?"

Without letting me respond, Bryce concluded his own thoughts. "If you have something wrong with your head, go get treatment instead of playing these stalking games. It's disgusting! Don't think apologizing will make me forgive you. Mentioning divorce once means it can happen again. I won't indulge your bad habits!"

He rattled on before finally deciding, "Go back to the set and reflect on yourself. After you finish filming, we can seriously discuss your issues."

Stunned by his words, I retorted, "The one who gets the problem is you, Bryce. Rest assured. I'm only bringing this up once. The divorce papers are here. Since we're both here, let's head to the Courthouse!"

As I spoke, I pulled the divorce agreement from my bag and threw it at Bryce!
