Chapter 4

Alan personally prepared a grand candlelight dinner at home because he saw that I was not in a good mood.

He also bought a big cake with 'Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary' written on it.

But I thought it ironic no matter how I looked at it.

Alan personally cut the cake for me and considerately placed it in front of me. I ate it without saying a word.

After Alan's phone rang twice, he frowned and set it to silent.
