Love's Farewell: Never Turning Back

I returned home silently.

I had no strength like a walking corpse, and collapsed on the sofa.

It felt like a dream until I took a deep breath to calm myself down and slowly accepted the reality.

Alan had gone astray.

He cheated on me with Bailey. Judging by their interaction, it seems like they had been together for a while.

Two hours later, Alan came back.

He carried some not-so-fresh fruits and turned on the lights as soon as he entered the room, instantly making the room dazzling.

I raised my hand to block instinctively.

I heard Alan's surprised voice, "Donna, why haven't you slept yet?"

He put some oranges and apples on the table and leaned towards me, acting spoiled.

"I don't know what happened today. There were no fruits downstairs, so I went to a slightly farther supermarket to buy them. But the car broke down on the way, so I got back now," he said with a hint of helplessness.

A strong scent of perfume hit me as he got closer to me.

I never wear perfume.

I was far away from Alan. "What's that smell on you?"

Alan's expression was unnatural. And he smiled to cover it up. "Maybe it's because I was too close to the lady boss when I bought the fruit. She was wearing perfume."

I laughed at myself.

I couldn't believe that Alan had lied to me and he was already so skilled at it.

I looked at the time on my phone. I felt bitter.

Alan was very punctual.

He said it was two hours. It's two hours.

"Go take a shower, I'll go to sleep first."

I pushed away Alan, who wanted to hug me. And I tried to hold back the urge to vomit, got up, and went back to my room.

I couldn't fall asleep no matter what.

After Alan finished taking a bath, he hugged me from behind and said, "Honey, it's been a long time since we..."

His hands caressed my skin gently.

He wanted to have sex, but I coldly rejected him.

"I'm too tired. I want to sleep."

Alan felt a little disappointed, but he didn't say anything and soon fell asleep.

I stared at Alan's sleeping face, so familiar, with tears streaming down my face.
