Love's Farewell Dance: Walking Away with Dignity Chapter 1

My mother-in-law Pearl believed in traditional Chinese medicine and took daughter to sunbathe on a 40-degree day.

My daughter was suffering from heatstroke and in a state of confusion and convulsions.

By the time I arrived, the surgery had failed, and she died on the spot.

When I found out the truth and cried to hold Pearl accountable, my husband pushed me to the ground.

"My mom is taking care of Ann's health with traditional Chinese medicine. How ungrateful of you to slander her!"

I died from excessive bleeding after hitting the back of my head on the corner of the table.

After death, my husband took my inheritance and openly married his mistress.

When I opened my eyes again, I went back to the day before my daughter suffered from heatstroke.

"Why are you turning on the air conditioner? Do you wanna me to die?"

As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw Pearl slap my daughter on the head.

In my previous life, I rushed over to protect my daughter and argued with reason as soon as I saw the situation.

My daughter had always been afraid of heat, and at such a young age, she didn't know that she shouldn't use the air conditioner right after sunbathing.

However, as soon as my mother-in-law heard it, she immediately shouted that my daughter and I couldn't stand her, that we disliked her for not doing housework, and that we wanted her to die.

I didn't want to argue, so I took my daughter back to the room and closed the door to use the air conditioner.

But my mother-in-law rushed in and snatched the remote control from me, saying, "What are you doing? Almost all the illnesses of you young people are caused by using the air conditioner too much."

My daughter was sweating profusely and looked at my mother-in-law, who looked like a madwoman. She shrank behind me and carefully tugged at my clothes, saying, "Mom, let's not turn it on. It's not hot now."

I felt sorry for my daughter and had the biggest argument with my mother-in-law. I turned on the air conditioner for my daughter and let it blow!

I made my mother-in-law so angry that she left home and didn't come back until the evening.

She apologized to me in a kind and gentle manner, saying that her behavior was excessive, that she realized her mistake, and that would take good care of Ann in the future.

Because her attitude was so sincere, I thought she really realized her mistake. How could there be any lingering grudges among family members?

The next day, I entrusted my daughter to Pearl, but little did I know that this would separate me from Ann forever.

"Coco, are you dead or what? Your daughter wants me to die, and you're still standing here like a log!"

Seeing me standing still, my mother-in-law couldn't contain her anger.

She pushed me hard, and I staggered before coming back to my senses.

I immediately picked up my daughter and said, "Pearl, it's Ann's fault. I'll take her out and educate her."

My daughter grabbed my clothes and tried to explain, "Mommy, it's so hot. I just wanted to cool down and didn't want to harm grandma."

"Stop making excuses! At such a young age, you already have such malicious thoughts. What will you be when you grow up?" My mother-in-law continued to shout, and I quickly carried my daughter out.

Of course, I knew that Ann didn't want to harm my Pearl, but Pearl wanted to harm Ann intentionally.

This was a cruel fact that I only learned after dying once.
