Chapter 4

Quinton glared at me angrily, then stood up and left.

I took my coffee and sat in the small garden to have breakfast.

Olivia followed and asked, “Do you really want to divorce Quinton?

“Leah, did you see what happened last night? I can explain. Quinton and I are not what you think."

Olivia's eyes started to turn red after she said a few words.

I glanced at her feigned look of grievance, already growing tired of the act and forcefully shook off Olivia's hand.

What I did not expect was her sudden scream as she stumbled backward, crashing into a nearby sculpture.

“Leah!”

What a coincidence, Quinton, who was about to go out, just came downstairs.

He rushed over and picked up Olivia, pointing at me and yelling, “I knew that you were just pretending to be nice to Olivia in the past and you only bullied her behind her back.

“I 'm telling you, this time I won't allow you to hurt her even a little bit.”

Olivia in his arms was crying out of breath, calling Quinton's name.

Quinton stepped forward, grabbed my arm and held me down to apologize to Olivia, “Apologize! Otherwise, I will throw you into the back hill to feed the dogs today.”

In the back mountain are several Tibetan mastiffs raised by his grandfather. They were raised on a diet of raw meat and were very ferocious.

“Sorry.”

I just wanted to leave peacefully without any more complications.

So, without any excuses, I bowed respectfully to Olivia and apologized.

Quinton had no room to maneuver, so he could only pick up Olivia and rush into the house, shouting for someone to call a doctor.

One injury caused a huge mess for the whole family.

I listened to the noise outside and calmly packed my things. I was halfway through when the door rang.

“It's not your fault for what happened today. Quinton just cares too much about me. I 've already told Quinton."

Looking at Olivia's pretentiousness, I lost my patience.

Taking the divorce agreement from the table, I got straight to the point and started the conversation, “Olivia, I do not know whether you like Quinton or not. But Quinton likes you. You can go to his study and take a look.

“This is the divorce agreement I signed. Find a way to get him to sign it. It will be good for both you and me.”

That study room.

After the incident in the previous life, I was the one who brought people in to smash and destroy all traces of the love between Quinton and Olivia.

Those photos, love letters, gifts and the paintings that Quinton drew for Olivia were all torn into pieces, burned and smashed by me.

Quinton hated me so much later on, not only because he thought I drugged Olivia and forced her to death, but also because he hated me for destroying his beautiful memories.

In his previous life, he often cried in his study and would stay there for several days.

At that time I naively thought I had won, but I did not know that was the beginning of my nightmare.

During the days when Quinton locked himself in the study, he planned to destroy me and my family. He did not even spare my dog.

I still remember the dog being thrown into the back mountain, from its loud howling to its dying whimper.

Once Olivia handed me the divorce agreement, I had just called the moving company.

She pulled me aside and said some hypocritical words, but I was too lazy to listen and pushed her away.

“Stop pretending. You feel very happy now, don't you?

“Olivia, you were the one who put the drug in the wine, right? You wanted to make Quinton lose control. Have you been waiting for this day for a long time?

“I'm telling you, I do not want trash like Quinton anymore. If you want to be a trash can, then just stay.”

In front of Olivia, I got into Patrick's car and left the Hurst Family without looking back.

I did not know how Patrick got the divorce certificate between Quinton and me.

I turned around and mailed the divorce certificate to Quinton’s office.

After doing these things, I felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

“I'll go get the certificate tomorrow.”

Patrick's words froze me where I was.

I looked at Patrick and remembered that in my previous life, my father was framed for having problems with the company's accounts.

If this really happened, then the only one who could save the Fowler Family was Patrick.

The only one I could rely on was Patrick.

After choosing a date, Patrick and I completed all the procedures and were waiting for the stamp when we heard bursts of noisy noises outside the door.

I looked back and saw Quinton rushing in in a hurry,

“Leah, you are so bold! Do you know that bigamy is illegal?”

Seeing Quinton so vicious, I was a little puzzled.

He signed the divorce agreement and the divorce certificate was also sent to him. Why was he acting like he knew nothing?

I frowned, pulled my hand back and was about to explain. But a staff member at the side said, “Sir, this lady is unmarried, are you mistaken?”

“How is that possible? She and I have been married for three years.”

He pulled out his ID card from his bag and handed it to the staff. The staff took it and scanned it on the reader, then glanced up with a slight smirk.

“Aren’t you divorced? The system shows you’re single now too.”

Quinton was stunned, “Divorce?! When did I divorce her?”
