Love That Burns Against Fate Chapter 1

During the three years of marriage with Quinton Hurst, he never touched me, claiming he was allergic to women.

On the third anniversary, he accidentally took aphrodisiac drugs. I volunteered to be the antidote but was rejected.

Until late at night, I ran into him breaking into the widow's room. His emotional look, which I had never seen before, deeply hurt my eyes.

“Olivia, I want... you, why did you not want me in the first place? Now that my eldest brother is dead, can I take care of you?”

Only then did I realize that Quinton’s desire to inherit both branches of the family had reached the point where he could no longer hide it.

I was so angry that I was shaking all over when I stood outside the door. I made a big deal out of this matter like a madman and the widowed sister-in-law committed suicide that night.

Since then, Quinton hated me so much that he schemed to bankrupt my family and forced my parents to death. He even sent me to a club and humiliated me until I died.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back to the beginning of the nightmare.

This time, I stopped the drugged drink.

——

“Mr. Hurst, the wine you ordered is here.”

“Quinton, why do you still love this glass of Sunset Morning so much? Is this wine so delicious?”

Sunset Morning.

The noise in my ears was as piercing as electronic music. Someone opened the window and a gust of cold wind blew in.

My mind suddenly cleared up and I realized that I was back to the third anniversary day.

That night, Quinton drank the drugged wine.

It was because of this glass of wine that my family was broken up and I could not close my eyes until I died.

Quinton and I had been betrothed to each other since birth. From the moment I was born, I was taught that I would marry into the Hurst Family.

I had no choice except to like Quinton.

After marriage, Quinton and I treated each other with respect, but there was no life as husband and wife at all. Even intimate actions would be rejected by Quinton.

My friends all advised me to take the initiative, saying that since I was married, I should bind the man’s heart and body.

So, I tried different ways to please him and seduce him.

Looking back then, I seemed like a cheap prostitute.

There was even one time when I tricked him into coming in by saying I fell down in the bathroom, but when faced with my naked body, he did not even bother to look at me and just grabbed the bathrobe beside him and put it on me.

He said coldly, “Don't do this again. You look so cheap.”

The word ‘cheap’ was like a hot brand that always made me unable to raise my head.

It was after that time that he took a medical report and revealed that he was allergic to women.

I thought it was true, so I tossed and turned every night worrying about his illness.

I personally visited various famous doctors at home and abroad.

He would just tell me coldly not to bother.

It was not until that accidental aphrodisiac injection that he revealed that emotional look.

Then I realized that he was not allergic to women, he just did not love me.

The one he loved was Olivia Houston, the sister-in-law of his deceased eldest brother.

In a dark corner, Quinton was being complimented by a group of people. I followed his gaze and saw Olivia standing on the other side tasting wine alone.

Watching the waiter walking towards Quinton with the wine in his hand, I quickly walked forward and knocked over the glass of wine.

The wine glass broke and the wine spilled everywhere.

There were wine stains on Quinton's clothes and pants.

He looked at me with displeasure in his eyes as he sneered, “Leah, what are you doing?!"

I looked at the mess on the ground and my heart sank.

It was Quinton’s favorite wine. It was made with whiskey as the base, dry white champagne and orange. In his words, it was mellow and had an endless aftertaste.

I did not know why he loved this ordinary wine.

Later I found out that it was not the wine he loved, but the person who mixed it was Olivia.
