Chapter 2

Vincent frowned and said some unpleasant words at will.

Seeing that my face darkened, he waved his hands helplessly.

"That's not what I meant. Wendy, you are usually very considerate. Why do you act weird today?

"The weather is nice today. How about we go shopping?" Vincent said in a condescending tone.

He used to hate accompanying me shopping.

At that time, I thought he didn't like shopping, but later I realized he just didn't want to appear in public with me as a couple.

He was afraid that my age would be discovered and it would embarrass him.

Now he took the initiative to suggest going shopping for the first time, but I shook my head indifferently.

"No, I have something else to do at the company. I'll leave first."

Vincent's angry voice sounded behind me, but I didn't coax him.

When I opened my Facebook, I received a new message.

It was sent by that girl.

[Why do you cling to a man who is seven years younger than you? How shameless you are! Vincent likes me. Please stop pestering him.]

Although these words were vicious, I felt very calm.

I was still worried whether Vincent had deceived the girl's feelings.

Now it seemed that I was overthinking.

Lucy Smith knew everything, but she still chose to be the mistress.

[It is Vincent who has been pestering me.] I replied to her.

After all, there was a seven-year age difference between Vincent and me.

If Vincent hadn't cared about me all the time before, I wouldn't have agreed to his pursuit.

But I would never have imagined back then that the boy who always said "Wendy, you are so beautiful" would now despise and hate me so much.

Ignoring Lucy's provocation, I focused on my work.

After completing almost all the formalities, I came to Vincent's university.

I came here not to find him but to visit my professor.

I got to know Vincent because of my professor.

He was also my professor's student, so I took better care of him, and slowly we got together.

Walking along the road, I suddenly heard a burst of whispers.

"Are Vincent and Lucy really together? They are such a perfect match!"

"Of course it's true. You didn't see that? Lucy sprained her ankle at the sports meeting, and Vincent carried her to the infirmary in a hurry. He also bought some medicine for her."

I felt disappointed and clenched my hands.

Not long after Vincent and I got together, he stopped caring about me.

I once stayed up late for work and drank so much that I had stomach bleeding.

I called Vincent, but he said, "Wendy, you are an adult. Why can't you take care of yourself? What's the point of looking for me? Go find a doctor."

Then I heard the sound of the game from the phone.

I thought Vincent was just young and didn't know how to care about others, but I didn't expect he would care so much about Lucy.

To put it bluntly, he didn't love me at all.

"Wendy? Why are you here?"
