Love Has Faded Chapter 1

In the third year of being with Vincent James, he was 22 while I was 29.

When I went to the bar to pick him up, I heard his friend ask him, "Vincent, you have been dating Wendy for three years. Are you really planning to marry her?"

Vincent smiled contemptuously, "Who would marry that old woman? I'm with her because she takes good care of me.

"She's getting older now, and every time I see her sagging skin, I want to throw up."

I went home and sat there all night.

Then I called my company and said, "I agree to be transferred to the branch."

——

After I hung up the phone from the company, Vincent returned home.

He reeked of alcohol and looked around for a while with a dazed look in his eyes.

Finally, he threw his shoes and clothes on the ground and fell onto the bed.

Seeing that I didn't offer him warm milk, he said in displeasure, "I've been back for a long time. You didn't see me?"

"I'm exhausted from work. I want to rest."

For the first time, I didn't comfort him.

Vincent didn't think much about it but just muttered, "You can't even do this well."

Then he fell into a deep sleep.

He hadn't even looked at me since he got home.

It was as if he had really had enough of me in the past three years and was tired of the fine lines at the corners of my eyes.

I looked in the mirror.

Although I still had a beautiful face, I was indeed not as youthful and energetic as I was three years ago.

I wrote the job transfer application and sent it to my leader.

It was not until noon that Vincent woke up.

Not seeing the expected breakfast, he frowned in annoyance.

"Wendy, can't you even do this trivial thing now?"

The trivial thing he was referring to was that I had cooked for him, taken care of him in every detail, and shouldered all the problems in his life for three years.

This was all my value, and I was more like a perfect nanny than a lover.

"We're out of ingredients. Let's order takeout," I said.

Vincent was stunned.

In the past, I always told him that takeout was unhealthy, and I would make everything he wanted to eat.

He pursed his lips but said nothing, then opened the app to order takeout.

After a while, he suddenly said, "I'll give you some information. Help me make a PPT. I need it before tonight."

After saying that, he curled up on the sofa, holding his phone with a faint smile.

I was surprised.

Vincent was not a person who loved studying. He once skipped classes and stayed up all night in an Internet cafe.

But recently, he often asked me to help him organize study materials and make PPTs.

Just when I was wondering, I received a friend request on Facebook.

The head portrait made me nervous because it was a photo of Vincent and another girl.

I recalled that a few days ago, Vincent changed his head portrait, which was a photo of him and me.

It turned out he had another girlfriend.

The girl's posts were full of sweetness, all about her daily love life with a boy.

I couldn't give my blessing because that boy was Vincent.

"What are you doing here? Why don't you make the PPT?"

Vincent urged me without even raising his head, his fingers rapidly tapping on the screen.

"I'm replying to the company," I said.

I flipped through the girl's posts with an expressionless face.

[The task assigned by my professor is so heavy. Fortunately, I have Vincent to help me.]

Half a month ago, Vincent urgently asked me to finish a paper within one day.

I put aside all my work and worked all night long to write it for him. I almost fainted from exhaustion the next day.

But it turned out that the paper was for this girl.

[Vincent is so nice to me. He gave me a beautiful car.]

When I saw the BMW in the picture, I laughed.

No wonder Vincent wanted my car a while ago even though I had already bought him a car.

"Wendy, why are you so stingy? As a senior executive of a big company, would you be short of a car? Lend it to me."

At that time, I thought Vincent liked it, so I gave it to him directly.

But unexpectedly, he changed the car's color into pink and gave it to this girl.

I numbly scrolled through the girl's posts one after another, feeling disappointed.

Vincent and I had been together for three years, but he cheated on me for half a year.

In the past six months, he had broken his promises many times just to accompany this girl.

I noticed that, but I just thought Vincent was young and playful.

Now I thought I was the biggest fool in the world.

Seeing that I didn't move, Vincent finally noticed something was wrong.

He put his arm around my shoulders but refused to do more.

Maybe he disliked my skin because it was not tender and youthful enough.

"What's wrong? You've been acting weird since you woke up this morning."

I didn't say anything but stared at the ring on his wrist.

Vincent's expression changed and he quickly retracted his hand.

"Don't get me wrong. My classmate left it here with me. I'm just keeping it for her temporarily."

"Fine."

To his surprise, I responded calmly and was about to go out.

"Wait!"

I turned to look at him, thinking he was going to continue explaining.

But he said with a cold face, "Wendy, have you forgotten something?"

I didn't remember what he was referring to.

"It's the beginning of the month, and you haven't transferred this month's pocket money to me yet."

Vincent's tone was very natural as if he took it for granted.

I smiled sarcastically.

I used to give him 50 thousand dollars a month, but he often thought it wasn't enough.

Now I knew that he actually used my money to support his another girlfriend.

"I'm sorry. My cash flow is tight lately, so I don't have money to give you."

After saying that, I turned and left.

"Stop!"

"It's just a ring. Why are you angry? You are not a little girl. Don't be so stingy."
