Rejected by My Billionare Husband Chapter 1

"You bitch! I'll make sure your life is over! I'll spread that indecent video of you all over the television stations!" Renata Wihelmia, Chris's personal secretary, threatened me confidently after we argued on the mobile phone line.

I hung up the phone call feeling annoyed. How could she insult me like this. Renata spoke as if she was Chris's legal wife and I was his mistress. Today, on the anniversary of Chris's company, Renata called me and revealed all her big secrets.

Her words were like a knife stabbing straight into my heart. I couldn't believe that Chris's secretary could do all this to me. Moreover, I couldn't believe that Chris had betrayed me all this time.

For five years, that woman had been with him without my knowledge. Christopher Anderson, the handsome man with the athletic physique and charisma, and his incredible wealth, turned out to be a big liar. The man who had married me all this time was in a relationship with another woman besides me at the same time.

Renata's voice on the phone line sounded like a jealous woman as she threatened me. What I never expected was that Chris had secretly filmed the scene when we were together some time ago. And it was certain that my modelling career would be ruined if that video got out to the whole country. Unfortunately, Renata knew that.

Quickly, I contacted Chris who was going to pick me up to attend the party together. I was impatient and furious after hearing Renata's threat and was eager to take it out on Chris. "Where are you?" I asked irritably and I'm sure Chris was surprised to hear my intonation.

Chris coldly replied that he couldn't pick me up because he had some urgent business at the office. I couldn't believe it and told him to go home, but Chris flatly refused and hung up on me.

I bit my lower lip and squeezed my mobile phone. Chris's rejection, which was not the first time, was enough to make me even more convinced. If Renata's existence by his side was more important than mine.

Chris' love for me seemed to be over, as he was often with that woman. The thought of Chris being with Renata made my blood boil. The image of Chris making out with that woman, too, made my soul struggle even more.

I quickly changed my party dress into a white t-shirt and jeans. I wore a thick jacket because it was raining outside. The cold weather didn't necessarily make my head cold.

My feet stepped out of my magnificent palace-like house, and decided to look for my husband in the high-rise building. I wanted so badly to run into those two lovebirds that they couldn't move anymore.

Now I knew why Chris always cancelled events that I was involved in. I remember when he would say, 'Oh, honey, I forgot, I still have work', when we had a charity event. Or the time he said, 'Honey, I have to leave the country today, so I can't be with you at the party', when I reminded him to come to our colleague's party.

It's obvious that she would have forbidden him to go with me. Chris also seemed to favour fulfilling her wishes over me. With quick steps, I arrived at my husband's office. I saw that the office was deserted, as everyone was preparing for Chris's company anniversary celebration at a five-star hotel. And sure enough, I found my husband making out with Renata in his office from behind the curtain.

I, who had just arrived, was shocked to see the scene. Even though I knew about my husband's affair, seeing him in person still made my blood boil. I couldn't bear to look at it anymore so I pulled the door handle quickly to open it.

But the door was locked, causing a noise that made Chris and his mistress panic. I could see their shocked faces from behind the same curtain. Chris and Renata quickly adjusted their clothes.

"You traitor!" I shouted and slapped my husband's face very hard as Chris opened the door to his room. Instantly, tears rolled down my cheeks. Chris looked at me very sharply, as if he didn't know what I was talking about. "What is it, Kimberly? Why did you slap me?" Chris asked, calling my name without the affectionate nickname he had before. His face was shocked and angry at what I had done to him for the first time. Yes, I had never slapped him. Even when he asked me to satisfy him, for the sake of my glorious modelling career.

At that time, Chris was the saviour of my life. I, who was pursuing a career as a model, received news from my agency. They couldn't promote me as a top model. Of course, the clichéd reason I heard from them, especially if it wasn't because I was displaced by other models who were much richer and more famous than me. I was frustrated and spent my time at a nightclub where the jetsetters hung out. That's where I met Chris. He offered me a bright future with him, as long as I would spend time with him that night.

"What's all this about? Are you crazy?" I asked with overwhelming emotion. I looked at Chris with hatred. Being betrayed by my own mate made me very angry. I quickly turned my gaze to Chris's secretary, the woman who had captured my husband's heart.

Renata, who was looking at me at the time, had a triumphant smile on her face. She didn't seem at all afraid of my presence. I approached her and was about to slap her too, just like I did to Chris.

But Chris blocked my hand with one of his. His eyes looked like a sea of red, staring at me angrily. Chris held my hand tightly, and threw it roughly. "Keep your hands off her!" Chris spoke as if I was a woman from the streets who was so dirty and despicable. He wouldn't let my hand touch his favourite woman.

He didn't hesitate to go over to Renata and hug her, as she screamed in pretence of surprise when I was about to slap her. I admit that she was so good at acting that even Chris was fooled by her behaviour. Even more astonishing, Chris even told me not to bother Renata anymore.

"What do you mean, bother? Isn't she the one who has been bothering me by teasing you?" I asked sarcastically and couldn't understand Chris' way of thinking. Chris looked at me with his eyes getting bigger and bigger. He didn't seem to accept my accusation against his mistress.

"Watch your language, Kimberly White!" Chris half shouted when I called Renata a temptress. The man even acted like a stranger in front of me. He no longer saw me as a wife, not even a queen in his heart. Chris treated me like someone worthless with his words.

I also felt strange about Renata's current attitude. Didn't she already admit her relationship with Chris when she called me earlier. Why was she acting as if there was nothing between them.

I tried to hold back the tears that kept rolling down my cheeks. Again, Renata smiled behind Chris's embrace as she saw me crying. I screamed in my heart, I should be the one in my husband's arms, not that woman.
