Chapter 2

Henry grabbed the divorce agreement and tore it to pieces again.

He glared at me with gritted teeth, veins popping out on his forehead.

"Regina, are you done yet? What's the problem with you? Is the luxurious life I gave you so satisfying that you've forgotten who you are?"

I laughed coldly in my heart, "A luxurious life? Humph, it sounds like I've taken great advantage of him."

Indeed, the Lawrence family was much richer than me. After we got married, we lived in a villa and had luxury cars to drive around in.

All the things in the house were the best, but were they for me? No. Such a carefree life was just something that Henry already had before he married me.

By contrast, I was like a maid, serving him all the time, but I even lived worse than a maid.

At least a maid could get a salary while my daily expenses were all covered by the butler.

I never had money nor had any freedom to spend it.

The so-called luxurious life was nothing but a beautiful cage for me.

With a cold look, I said nothing. Henry snorted and walked out of the room.

"Did you make a candlelight dinner last night? What day was it?"

He returned to the room and asked me with a confused look.

I sneered, "It's our tenth wedding anniversary, but you were busy making out with your mistress, so how could you remember it?"

There was a hint of remorse on Henry's face when he glanced at me and sat down on the bedside with his head down.

"Sorry, I've been too busy lately. If you want a gift, I'll buy it for you.

"Don't blame Yvie. Her boyfriend in Maylor, whom she had been in love with for many years, passed away due to illness. It's been a year, but she still can't get over it and cried sadly last night. I grew up with her, so I can't ignore her."

I snorted with cold laughter in my heart. How could he have the nerve to tell me she cried sadly last night?

When I rushed over and caught him cheating on me last night, the two of them were laughing so happily together.

In truth, I learned about Henry and Yvonne's love story shortly after I got married to him.

Yvonne grew up together with him and was his first love. They were admitted to the same university.

But suddenly, the Williams family's business encountered severe problems at home and had to move to another country, Maylor.

The young couple in love had no choice but to part ways.

Before leaving, Yvonne and Henry agreed to get married after completing her studies in Maylor.

However, things changed. Before graduation, Yvonne suddenly said that she had a boyfriend in Maylor and would not come back.

I was the idiot who had a crush on Henry for four years in college but never dared to confess my feelings for him.

That day, seeing Henry weeping dejectedly in the playground, I kept him company for a long time and finally mustered up the courage to profess my love to him.

He said yes immediately and told me I was the only bright star in his dark life.

We got married right after graduation without any courtship. After marriage, I noticed his coldness toward me.

Soon, I heard the story of him and Yvonne from his classmates, and then I understood everything.

It turned out that he married me not because he loved me but just to infuriate Yvonne.

At that time, I was still confidently thinking that he would be moved by my sincerity sooner or later.

Now, I realized that it was just wishful thinking. Yvonne's place in his heart could never be substituted.

Putting aside the thoughts in my mind, I looked at him with cold eyes.

I uttered calmly, "I don't know why you don't want us to divorce, but I have printed dozens of copies of the divorce agreement. Just sign it when you have thought this matter through."

Henry's expression, which had just relaxed, turned frosty again.

Right at this juncture, his phone buzzed. I saw the caller ID on the screen was Yvie.

Immediately after a glance at me, he went to the balcony and answered the call. After a few dozen seconds, he hung up.

He picked up his coat. Just when he opened his mouth, intending to say something to me, I spoke first.

"You don't have to tell me. You'll go find her anyway."
