Leaving My Husband Who Arranged My Body for His Dead Sweetheart

Since our village was remote and there were no outsiders, if anyone entered, people would definitely know. When I heard this, I felt relieved.

These past few days, even when I slept, I had to guard against Stanley and Xenia. I did not know how they were going to harm me. So, I had never slept well at all and I was too tired.

Half-asleep, my phone suddenly rang urgently. When I grabbed it and saw the screen, my expression instantly changed.

I immediately tensed up when I saw his phone number, but soon after, I gradually relaxed.

Now that I was back in my hometown, I did not need to be afraid of Stanley anymore.

“Selene, where are you?”

The moment I answered, Stanley’s voice came from the phone.

Right now, he sounded especially anxious, even a bit furious, as he said, “Where did you run off to? Didn’t I tell you to wait for me at home?”

As I listened to him, a faint smile appeared on my face and I said, “Stanley, I already told you, I want a divorce!”

“Selene, what nonsense are you saying? Didn’t I already say we’re not divorcing and you agreed?” On the other end, Stanley’s voice was anxious and even gloomy.

I replied coldly, “Stanley, I’m not crazy!  chose to divorce you. I’ll have a lawyer handle this!”

“Also, I will leave with nothing. I won’t fight you for the property!” After saying this, I was ready to hang up.

But on the other end, Stanley refused to give in. He even roared almost crazily, “Selene, tell me where you are!”

“You... come back right now!”

I ignored him and hung up the call, then directly blocked his number.

At the same time, I called a lawyer I knew. I told him he could now send the divorce agreement I had commissioned to Stanley. I also entrusted him fully to handle the matter.

The lawyer quickly replied, "I'll carry out everything according to what we had discussed."

After completing all this, I finally let out a genuine sigh of relief. Then, I got up and hurried to the village’s convent hall.

That was the place where my grandmother used to stay. After her death, I had not come here for a long time.

Inside the hall, I found her old prayer beads and some other belongings.

After carefully keeping them, I finally felt truly at ease. If Stanley brought Xenia here, I no longer needed to fear them.

When I went back home, I continued sleeping. Without those annoying calls, I slept unusually soundly.

Early the next morning, when I woke up, my cousin brought me food and told me Stanley had called him to ask if I had come back.

“Brian, how did you answer?” I asked curiously.

Hearing that, I nodded and did not dwell on it anymore. Besides, as long as I was in the village, I was safe.

Ever since I graduated from university, I have not lived in my hometown for a long time. Now that I had returned, I felt especially at ease.
