Leaving a Vicious Family,Finding the Most Beautiful Self
Chapter 2
In the ninth grade, when my mom fainted while she was out, Henry's mom, Nora Bell, found her and called 911 for help.
The first thing my mom did after she was discharged from the hospital was to find her savior. At the time, Nora was a street cleaner. To repay her, my mom invited her to work as a housekeeper and brought Henry from his hometown to attend school.
Henry lived at my house. My mom specifically reminded me to be accommodating to him.
I understood the importance of gratitude, so I made sure he enjoyed the same treatment as I did. I gave in to him in everything and indulged him.
To my surprise, our indulgence turned him into a greedy, ungrateful person.
Not only did he take my dad's card and spend recklessly, but he also spread rumors about me, belittling and humiliating me.
This led to my classmates isolating and bullying me, while he, posing as a wealthy young master, enjoyed everyone's admiration and praise.
I thought about explaining, but he used the excuse, "My mom saved your mom's life, so you owe us," to make me give in to him.
I remembered my mom's advice and didn't expose his true identity. I focused entirely on my studies.
But I didn't expect he would secretly instruct girls who liked him to bully me, including his girlfriend, the school beauty Leah Torres.
Leah's dad was the principal, so no one controlled her. She often brought people to corner me in the bathroom and shove my head into the toilet.
She warned me not to make a move on Henry.
At that time, my parents were always working out of town. To avoid worrying them, I didn't tell them about these incidents.
I didn't expect my tolerance to embolden Leah. One time, Henry ordered her to shove my head into the toilet until I suffocated and collapsed before letting me go.
Due to prolonged oxygen deprivation, I became a vegetable and never woke up again.
When my parents went to the school to investigate the culprits, Henry feared he would be found out. He called his mom and had her place confidential documents from a rival company in my dad's study, framing him for plagiarism.
He also teamed up with the rival company to post the incident online, causing my dad's reputation to plummet, the company's stock to crash, and the business to go bankrupt overnight.
While the nurse was away, Henry secretly unplugged my oxygen tube. I died miserably on that hospital bed.
My parents were devastated. It was as if they aged overnight. On their rushed way to the hospital to see me, they were hit and killed by a car driven by someone Henry had hired.
The driver fled the scene and was never caught. Meanwhile, Henry took the money from the rival company. He went abroad to study and lived a happy life with his mom.
My family of three died tragically, while the person responsible for our deaths lived a good life. I could not rest in peace.
Fortunately, the heavens showed mercy and granted me a second chance at life.
This time, I will make sure Henry pays for what he did in blood!
