After a heated argument leads to his mistress losing her fertility, billionaire Conan Hamilton cruelly banishes his wife to a remote nunnery. One year later, he returns to reclaim her, only to discover she has already broken free and is raising a child. Misinterpreting her motives, Conan accuses her of using the infant to mock his lover's loss. He remains oblivious to the truth: the child is not his, and she is set to marry another man.

It's Too Late for Us Chapter 1

Conan Hamilton's true love secretly wears my wedding gown. She's pregnant, and she slips and falls when we argue. After being taken to the hospital, she's told that she'll never have another child.

Conan is furious. He banishes me abroad to be a nun.

A year later, he comes to the nunnery to take me home. However, all he finds is that I've long since broken free. I even have a child in my arms.

His eyes are red as he snarls, "Are you trying to use the child to force me to marry you? Or do you just want to mock Queenie for not being able to bear children anymore?"

He has no idea that the child isn't his. He also doesn't know that I'm about to marry someone else.

We hadn't met in over a year, but Conan Hamilton was still as cocky and self-righteous as ever.

Nonetheless, I suppressed my emotions and glanced lightly at him through clear eyes.

"Nope. You got it all wrong."

However, the disdain and cockiness in Conan's eyes didn't die down. He still looked mighty sure of himself as he teased, "You still have the worst temper in the world. I see that it hasn't changed. A person like you would never marry into the Hamilton family!"

Right at that moment, Finley Hamilton, who had just turned a month old, suddenly started crying in my arms, interrupting Conan.

Conan frowned. He glanced at the baby and seemed to feel some pity for him. He wanted to say something but stopped himself before he did. Then, he reached to take the baby from my arms.

Just then, a flirty and coquettish voice was heard from afar. It was only then that Conan put his hands down and turned toward the voice.

"Conan?"

Queenie Winters appeared, coming up next to us. However, her expression immediately turned dark when she saw me and baby Finley.

Still, she wrapped her hands seductively around Conan's arm as if to show off that he belonged to her or something.

"Conan, I know that you came here looking for Rina… I must be the third wheel here. Should I leave?"

Conan immediately spoke up. "Of course you aren't. She's already been repenting for a whole year. She would no longer be as petty as she once was."

He then looked up at me. I just gave him a light smile and told them, "Of course, you're not the odd one out. I am. I'll be taking my leave now."

I turned to walk away, but Conan immediately grabbed my wrist and yelled at me, "I just said that you wouldn't be as petty as before, but look at you, giving me an attitude like this! You're still as dumb as ever. I overestimated you!"

Had this been in the past, I would definitely have felt hurt by the way he defended Queenie in front of me. But now, I didn't even want to bother arguing with him.

I forced my wrist out of his grip.

"I still have a plane to catch, so if you'll both excuse me."

I was going back this time because I had a huge event to attend.

However, I'd just left with Finley for the airport when Conan also made a call to book the same flight home for him and Queenie.

As soon as we boarded the plane, Finley wouldn't stop crying because he was hungry. I quickly made my way to the nursing room to feed him.

However, Queenie blocked my path, looking ready to snatch Finley away from me.

"How could you not know how to comfort a baby, Rina? Since he keeps crying, you should give him to me. I will comfort him."

I neatly avoided her grubby hands and tightly held my only baby. Then, I said guardedly, "Finley has asthma. I'll handle him myself."

Who would have thought that Queenie would suddenly start sobbing in the middle of the plane?

She bawled, tears streaming down her face as she caused a huge scene."I can't give birth anymore, and you know that! I didn't even blame you for my miscarriage the last time, but how could you not even let me hold your baby?"

As soon as she burst into tears, everyone on the plane immediately looked at me, thinking that I'd been bullying Queenie.

Conan heard the commotion and approached us. He looked at me with pure disgust and hatred.

"Sabrina Lockhart, Queenie just wants to hold the baby. What did she ever do to you to deserve such terrible treatment? You need to be taught a lesson!"

I couldn't hold back any longer. I glared at Conan and said determinedly, "Finley is my baby, and Queenie's miscarriage was an accident. Why must you pin the blame on me?"

Conan wanted to retort as soon as I was done speaking, but the other women on the plane started defending me.

"I see, so it turned out that this wretch is just acting like a spoiled brat so she could snatch away someone else's baby! How shameless of her!"

"How could she try to snatch someone else's baby in broad daylight? And while crying and sobbing so uglily like that?"

Queenie felt embarrassed when she heard the words directed at her. Conan immediately defended her.

"I am the baby's father! This is my family's private affair!"

Then, another female passenger lost her temper and scoffed loudly. "Even if you're the baby's father, how could you help another woman snatch the baby away from the mother? You're equally as disgusting and despicable as her!

"Don't you ever book a flight on this plane again. Just looking at both of your vile faces makes me want to puke!"

Conan had never been embarrassed in public before. He was on the verge of blowing up, his chest heaving heavily. However, he couldn't get a single word out.

Queenie also gritted her teeth in anger. Her eyes were full of unshed tears as she ran, sobbing, into the lavatory.

Just as I was about to push the door to the nursing room open, Conan grabbed the handle and stopped me from opening it.

His voice was cold and icy as he gritted through clenched teeth at the air hostess nearby, "Anyone on the plane with young children can use this room—except Ms. Lockhart. She is forbidden from it."
