Intoxicated by the Love He Gave
Chapter 1
After a crazy night, I found the man lying next to me a bit familiar.
Taking a closer look, I was stunned.
Wasn’t it Maxwell Miller, the top actor in the entertainment industry?
So, the person who slept with me last night was him?
I hurriedly grabbed my clothes and planned to escape from the scene.
But as soon as I got up, my whole body was pulled back onto the bed by a strong arm.
Oh no! Maxwell woke up!
I buried my head, afraid to look at him.
But I heard him hoarsely say, “Wasn’t the 5,000 dollars you gave me last night a bit less?”
I just remembered that I mistook him for a money-boy when I was drunk yesterday and gave him five thousand dollars.
At that time, I thought I was very generous.
Now it seemed stingy.
I looked at him with a grievance and said, “Then... should I add more money?”
Maxwell burst into laughter.
He raised the corner of his lips and his lazy expression revealed a hint of wickedness. “I don’t want money. Let’s find another way to make it up.”
After speaking, he pulled me into his arms and gently kissed me on my forehead.
I was completely stunned, feeling the warmth on my forehead.
My cheeks were also warm.
“Heh, as expected...” Maxwell smiled with a deep meaning.
“What?”
He didn’t answer, just beckoned to me with his hand, “Give me your phone.”
I obediently handed over my phone.
When I got it back, I found I had gotten an extra 5 million!
What was this?
Maxwell said, “There’s something I want to ask for your help with.”
His voice was charming, making it impossible to refuse.
But I still asked cautiously, “What kind of help?”
“It’s very simple. To marry me.”
Did he have a misunderstanding about the word ‘simple’?
I awkwardly smiled and said, “Well, getting married right after just meeting each other seems too hasty, doesn’t it?”
As soon as I finished speaking, I received another 5 million!
“Will it be more formal like this?”
Maxwell fixed his eyes on me as if he was coquettish and seductive.
I wiped the drool from the corner of my mouth and clicked to confirm the payment.
Such a beauty didn’t matter to me!
The key was the 10 million dollars, which was too much!
In just two days, Maxwell quietly registered our marriage and asked me to move into his private villa.
I was opposed to living together.
But Maxwell said, “Now that we have already received the certificate, don’t even think about slacking off!”
Alright, it was all for the sake of money!
On the day of moving, Maxwell unexpectedly turned down social engagements and stayed at home to help me pack my luggage.
I said to him, “Actually, you don’t need to come back and help me. It’s a contractual marriage, and I know what I should do. Don’t worry. I won’t disturb your life. I’ll take the money and keep my mouth shut...”
After a moment of silence, I obediently looked at Maxwell, thinking that he would praise me for being sensible.
Unexpectedly, his face turned dark as he said, “You have quite the imagination.”
“Then what should I do?”
Maxwell raised an eyebrow and asked, “How else can you fulfill your duties as a wife by putting your luggage in the guest room farthest from the master bedroom?”
“Wha-what duties?”
He leaned down, his gaze fixed on me.
He took a step forward, and I took a step back until he pressed me against the wardrobe door.
“No, don’t!”
I thought he would make an excessive move and couldn’t help but cry out.
But he just smelled my hair and said, “I hope you can act with me.”
As he said that, I suddenly realized.
Damn it!
Maxwell was so eager to get married. It must be for some special situation!
Could it be for true love?
My imagination instantly opened up.
“No problem! How do you want me to act? Pretend to be sweet in public? Pretend to be filial to elders? Or is it that your ex-girlfriend is returning to the country and you want me to make her jealous?”
Maxwell frowned and said, “You’re overthinking. When I say acting, I mean acting. I want you to act with me in a movie.”
“Act in a movie?”
I didn’t understand.
Maxwell was a hotshot in the entertainment industry, and there were plenty of people who wanted to act with him.
As long as he told the crew, there would be people fighting to get the role!
But Maxwell said, “I don’t want anyone else, just you.”
He looked at me with a smile, his tone seductive.
I could hardly meet his gaze and asked, “Why?”
“Because I’m allergic to other women.”
