Chapter 2

In a certain sense, I have to thank Marsh Colon, even though he ruined my marriage with Sasha.

But if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have bought the lottery ticket.

And I wouldn't have been favored by fate, winning nearly 100 million dollars in the midst of a divorce. After taxes, I would still have 80 million dollars in hand.

That day, I was receiving treatment in the hospital. I had had a car accident in an attempt to save Sasha, and my body was injured. I had not healed.

When I was taking the subway home while carrying a big bag of medicine, I received a photo on WhatsApp from Marsh. It was an ultrasound image.

[It's me and Sasha's baby.]

My world collapsed at that moment. As a man, I had deeply loved Sasha and our home.

I couldn't help but cry in the subway. The passengers around me didn't know what had happened to me and looked at me strangely.

After I got off the subway, it suddenly poured rain. I stumbled into the doorway of a welfare lottery shop to take shelter from the rain.

The shop owner was a good person. Seeing that I was so dejected and soaked by the rain, he invited me to go into the shop to warm up.

When the rain stopped, to show my gratitude, I bought three lottery tickets for 30 dollars.

"Random numbers?" the shop owner asked.

"Alright."

My arguments with Marsh and Sasha began since that day. One day, I was exhausted and desperate from the arguments, and then I accidentally found these three lottery tickets and checked them. I unexpectedly won the first prize, and the prize was close to 100 million dollars!

The large amount of prize cheered me up, helping me stand up again after being betrayed by Sasha.

Since that day, I had been planning how to divorce Sasha perfectly without her knowing.

I didn't hate Sasha anymore. She cheated on me, and I didn't tell her about winning the lottery. We were even now.

In addition to spending 20 million dollars to buy those two apartments in full, I purchased four storefronts for investment. And then I used the remaining money to buy stocks, funds, bonds, and bank deposits, and the interest would be more than enough for me.

In total, I still had a few million dollars left.

I went to the mall and bought all those expensive clothes that I usually dared not look at. I even set aside a room for my cloakroom.

I spent nearly a million dollars in one go. Seeing that, the mall manager immediately treated me with great respect. They not only provided pick-up and drop-off services but also prepared a dedicated lounge with professional staff serving only me.

But I didn't buy a car because I couldn't reveal the fact that I had won the lottery to anyone, including my family.

After enjoying myself for two months, I planned to start working again.

I graduated from a top university and used to teach in a middle school. After marrying Sasha, I resigned from the school and became her personal secretary.

After marriage, I couldn't have children because of my injury, and I was always criticized and looked down upon by Vita.

So, I had been taking medicine and seeing doctors these years.

Back then, I had loved Sasha.

Now I felt so happy because I had money and free time.

In just a few days, I got a job in a media company as a logistics staff.

There was no performance assessment, no business pressure, and almost no overtime on weekends and holidays.

Maybe it was because I didn't care that much and often treated my colleagues to meals and coffee, they all liked me.

In less than a month, I had blended in.

Justin Shortle was Trina Shaw's secretary, and he was handsome and beefy. We often went to the gym together and soon became buddies.

One weekend, Justin had something to do, so he asked me to go to Trina for her to sign an urgent document."You can go to her villa. I'll give you the password to open the door. Ms. Shaw often wears headphones and can't hear the doorbell. Thank. I'll treat you to coffee tomorrow."

"It's OK. I have nothing to do anyway."
