I Won a Hundred Million on the Day We Divorced
Chapter 3
I printed the file and went out wearing casual sportswear. I took the subway to the front of her villa and pressed the doorbell twice, but no one answered, so I entered the password. The door opened.
In the bathroom of her room, Trina was sitting in the bathtub all naked, wearing headphones and closing her eyes to relax...
I quickly left the bathroom and said loudly at the door a few times, "Ms. Shaw."
"Come in."
I stood still because I didn't dare to walk in at all.
She said again, "Come in."
I had to brace myself. Then I walked in.
The bathroom was filled with a fragrant aroma, and Trina's fragrant, fair, and smooth shoulders were half-exposed.
"Justin asked me to come to you for a signature."
I handed over the file while speaking, but I dared not look at her, sweating nervously.
After she signed the document, I took it back and turned to leave.
She suddenly asked, "Do you have anything to do this afternoon?"
"I need to send it back to the company. The Project Department is waiting for it."
"Let the Project Department send someone to the resort to get the file. You, come with me to attend a dinner party."
I was stunned. "I'm afraid it's not appropriate."
Trina glanced at me. "In this outfit? Indeed.
"Consider it as overtime."
Fine. I had never attended a high society dinner before anyway. I'd just take it as an eye-opener.
When we arrived at the resort, two greeters came to greet us.
Seeing that I was a little nervous, Trina smiled gently and said, "It's just a regular banquet. No need to feel burdened."
"OK." She was gentle and beautiful, making me blush.
The greeter was a little surprised when she saw me in sportswear, but she kept it to herself. She led me to the area where the male guests were resting, while Trina went somewhere else with another greeter.
The VIP room was playing light and soothing music, and I was a little at a loss. I was about to sit down and play with my phone when someone took the initiative to come up and talk to me.
"What are you doing here?"
I looked up and saw Marsh standing in front of me in a smart suit, looking complacent.
He was Sasha's legitimate husband now.
Since the divorce, I hadn't seen Marsh, Sasha, or anyone from the Meyer family.
I no longer held any grudges against them, but if they provoked me, I wouldn't be afraid at all.
"Because I wanted to."
"Are you here to be a waiter?" Marsh sneered and took out a stack of money from his bag. "These are for you as a tip. Get out of here now. Don't let me and Sasha see you again."
How ridiculous.
"Marsh, I am indeed working overtime. If you don't want to see me, feel free to leave with Sasha."
I didn't have to be polite to a homewrecker.
"You!" Marsh became furious. "Just wait. This isn't over."
"I'm waiting."
After a few minutes, Sasha rushed in, lowered her voice, and warned me through gritted teeth, "You'd better not let anyone know about our relationship!"
"Cliff is working here to earn money. He is trying to make a living on his own. He didn't come here to cause trouble on purpose," Marsh said.
"You phony," I sneered.
The soothing instrumental music matched with Marsh's acting made it a perfect idol drama.
Marsh gave me a fierce glare and said, "Watch your mouth!"
Just as I was about to lose control and punch him, suddenly, someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and saw Trina.
"Your friends?" Trina's voice was calm, but there was a sense of nobility somehow.
"Well..." I stuttered, not knowing how to answer.
"I am Trina Shaw. Nice to meet you."
Trina reached out her hand, and Sasha looked surprised but quickly shook hands with her.
"I am Sasha. Nice to meet you, Ms. Shaw."
Of course, Sasha knew Trina, the main financial backer, but she never had the chance to talk to Trina.
"Cliff forgot to wear a suit today, so I'll take him to change. Excuse us."
She actually called me by my name so intimately! I blushed once again.
Saying that, Trina ignored their gazes and pulled me out.
I didn't expect that Trina really had a suit prepared for me.
Then a professional makeup artist came over to do my hair and makeup.
My image completely changed.
"Let's go." Trina reached out and held my arm.
The doors of the banquet opened, with lights and shadows flickering, and everyone's gaze was drawn over.
I saw confusion, resentment, and anger in Sasha and Marsh's eyes.
By the time we left the resort, it was already late at night.
Trina had been drinking and was a bit drunk. I was a little worried, so I called a designated driver to take her home.
After changing out of the suit and back into my own sportswear, I planned to leave.
Unexpectedly, Trina said, "Can you fix some pasta for me? I didn't eat enough."
Her request wasn't excessive, so I stayed.
In the Meyer family, I was the cook of the family, and I could easily fix two tables of dishes.
"Was that your ex-wife?"
"How did you know?"
"Your file says you are divorced."
Trina was a beautiful and gentle woman, and she was also very concerned about me...
It'd be a lie to say I wasn't attracted to her.
I even had a little expectation.
She looked at me intently, and I blushed and turned around to wash the vegetables.
Suddenly, Trina came over from behind, and her feminine aura enveloped me, making my heart beat faster.
"They'll get wet."
"What?"
My body trembled inexplicably.
Trina rolled up my sleeves and leaned down to my ear, speaking meaningfully.
"I think you're thinking about something unspeakable."
"Can't I?"
I refused to show weakness and used my wet fingertips to brush against her hand.
Trina's eyes were hazy. "Wanna stay?"
