Chapter 1
My name was Serena Hart. On the same day I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, I found out that I was pregnant.
I was on my way to find Andy Parham with two reports when I encountered a landslide.
I was buried under the rubble with the car, and when I opened my eyes, it was already two days later.
My phone was dying. I called Andy for help.
But I heard the voice of a woman, full of tenderness. She was the love of his life.
"Andy, your fiancee wants to talk to you."
Andy's hoarse voice echoed in the cramped space.
"I've even taken off my pants. Stop bringing her up! What a bummer! Get over here!"
I was in agony, but I still begged him to save me. He coldly refused me amidst the sound of water.
"Nothing is more important than the present moment!"
I listened to the busy tone and laughed at myself.
He's right. Nothing can stand in his way of getting intimate with her, even though I'm dying!
With the collapse, the car and I were buried even deeper.
The screen of the phone went dark, and I closed my eyes in despair!

In the darkness, I seemed to hear someone digging something.
When I opened my eyes, I was lying in the hospital bed, and my baby inside was as tough as me.
When I was going through the discharge procedures, I unexpectedly found that my boyfriend Andy was taking care of the woman he loved in the ward.
Maggie Ramos leaned weakly in Andy's arms, and he gently blew the soup, feeding her spoon by spoon.
When the soup overflowed from the corner of her mouth, he indulgently wiped it clean for her, and then he scraped the tip of her nose with affection.
I was with him for seven years, and it was the first time I knew he could be this caring and gentle.
He was never the rough man he claimed to be. He just didn't bother to care about me.
The piercing pain spread throughout my body. I clenched the report in my pocket and went to the doctor.
At that moment, I made up my mind to keep the baby and deal with the cancer after the baby was born.
The fact that my baby survived meant it wanted to be with me.
Besides, it might be the only child I ever had.
As for Andy? I'd treat the seven years I wasted on him as the price of borrowing his semen.
However, Andy saw me through the small window on the door.
He whispered a few words in Maggie's ear and then walked out of the ward with a cold face. When he closed the door, he gave her a reassuring gesture.
"Why are you here?"
He thought I was following him and came to the hospital to confront him.
He frowned tightly, clearly indicating that he was angry.
If he had cared a bit about me, he should have noticed my pale lips and the obvious gauze on my arm.
He always had a keen sense of smell, but he didn't smell the medicine on me.
"Why do you care?"
My indifferent tone, to him, sounded like I was throwing a tantrum.
He suppressed his anger and scolded me unhappily.
"Do you have nothing else to do besides following me all day?
"Do you know that this kind of twisted love is suffocating?
"I'll let you off today. You may contribute. Now that you're here, donate bone marrow to Maggie! I already had the doctor run a bone marrow match between you two. You're a match. Besides, you two are blood relatives. You're the most suitable one."
"So, should I thank you for giving me this opportunity?"
It turned out that was what he used the unlabeled blood for during my physical checkup.
He only cared about the result of the match. He didn't give a damn about my body, and of course, he didn't know I was pregnant with his child.
Maggie and I had the same father but different mothers. She was his favorite.
And I became her substitute because I bore some resemblance to her.
Now, I had become the cure for her illness!
At the freshman orientation, Andy and I met for the first time. He played the guitar and confessed his love to me passionately. He said he fell in love with me at first sight.
Under the starry sky, the flashlight of the phones flickered, and everyone shouted.
"Be together! Be together!"
That scene was just like a love proposal in a fairy tale, and I was moved.
Later, I found out that my father had an illegitimate daughter, who happened to be the love of Andy's life.
He confessed to me just to make up for the regret of his unrequited love. She was his first love.
"Maggie is your elder sister. You shouldn't interfere in the grievances of the previous generation. I helped her because of you. Can't you be sensible and forgiving?"
Saying that, he called the doctor, Warwick Vargas.
"Dr. Vargas, my fiancee is here. I will bring her to the operating room now."
I just went through a disaster. The doctor said I had to get enough rest because of the baby.
If I had a bone marrow transplant now, I might lose the baby. Even if I managed to keep it, its development would be affected.
Moreover, because of the existence of Maggie and her mother, my mother had been depressed for a long time. I would never agree to donate bone marrow to Maggie.
"If you want to help her that much, donate yours! I don't care if she dies!"
Due to agitation, my abdomen was slightly painful. I didn't want to look at Andy again.
When I turned around to leave, he grabbed me and threw the weak me against the wall.
I curled up in pain, and Andy looked down on me.
"Enough! Drop the act. I didn't use much force!
"As long as you donate bone marrow to Maggie, I will marry you after she goes abroad! Haven't you always wanted to have children with me? After we get married, we can have a son and a daughter."
After saying that, he made a phone call in front of me and booked our wedding banquet on the island I wanted to go to the most.
"See? I keep my promises. If you have any other requests, tell me. I will say yes to all!"
I wiped away the tears that flew out because of the physical pain and stood up, enduring the pain.
Andy still seemed like the affectionate Prince Charming who confessed his love to me, but I'd never be the one he loved.
