Chapter 6

Jaime POV

“Callum!” I yell for his attention after giving him a punch on his face. Training to stay in the game and on top of that, distracting myself as usual. I am so tired of having to do anything just to get that person out of my head.

‘If you would have waited on her, we would have been in a better state.’ Kai tells me with a growl at the end, as he moves to the back of my mind. I have been in celibacy for almost 3 years, that is except 2 months ago. It’s only 8pm in the night in our third training of the week.

‘Even if it’s true, we are better off with our chosen Luna, no point in being ashamed of having a good Luna.” I tell my wolf, surprised he answers, as I duck a kick and keep my defenses up. ‘It is wrong, she not mate.’ Are the only growling words he gives me.

I hold on to Callums leg and twist it to the side. I hit one head with another of two other warrior’s, I hate my wolf when he acts like that. We have a strong Luna, she has even made changes that made our ways of living so much stronger and more complete.

He should be proud of her and move on like me, but no. He is stuck on his old mate. The one who was pampered like a poodle, the one who acted like she owned everyone and handled it all like a- a. ‘Goddess? A Queen? Say it Jaime, you love her too.’ Kai says.

“Ou for the love of it all Kai, stop nagging at me over a stupid poodle!” I yell out as I hit the shoulder of one warrior with my fist, hearing its shoulder pop, “It's been 3 years for crying out loud! Grow up!” he growls in response, I need him but he clearly gives no importance to me.

“Kai still giving you a hard time?” Says Callum with a snicker on his face, I catch up my breath from my internal fight. “Daddy!” yells Cree, Callum’s 3 year old son, after he marked and mated Kilala she got pregnant and had Cree. Now they are waiting on another baby, a girl. He hugs Callums leg and smiles with giggles.

He picks his son up to hold on his hip, us being in speedo’s makes us look like men from those types of calendars. We prefer this over other types of clothes this way less clothes are shredded and humans never get their curiosity towards us, accidents can and have happened, specially towards hunters.

I get to the center where everyone else is fighting, I place a small green back on a warriors speedo, these have pockets that help us train. “Rundown!” The warriors take off trying to find who is the spy, the one with the green bag. I was about to run after them till I see the shoulders of Mykel leaning on the door with both his arms and legs cross.

“Callum, supervise for now. Seems our neighbor has felt like visiting”. I take my towel and get up the stairs. “Yes Alpha.” He takes off and his son run’s to the far side where his mom is, I stand in front of Mykel after cleaning up the sweat from my face I extend my hand at him.

“Seems your training is as harsh as ever.” He reply’s dryly. “We can’t all depend on grandpa for training.” I smirk at his annoyed face, he is almost always here and rarely in my pack house, always over seeing the building.

I should feel threatened but to be honest I have been searching in his own pack, he is very proud of how he guards his pack but I have send rogues to attack his pack and not one came back. So to be on fair grounds, I called the elders on these suspicions, he hated that.

Two years ago we had a conflict that almost got us in a war but we dropped it because he agreed in helping my pack after dating my mate for a year, ‘that is on you, you allowed him to date mate’ Kai throws at me, like I was already expecting that.

The dog has got one big fight against anything I do, but enough of that I need to see what he wants. Haven’t seen him for a year and 2 months. We enter the pack house, passing the rooms to get to my office, as soon as we arrive at my desk he starts.

“We need to make preparations to test the builded wall.” He says in a calm voice, jokes on him that I already did but I will surprise him with something else. “I agree.” I hit the intercom to the direct line to the elders.

“Goodnight Elder Howl, it has been a while. How have you been?’, I ask with a little relief, Mykel looks pale, good. I don’t know how he actually believes I am the Alpha to have him take me for a fool. He is up to something and I am not going to be used.

‘Well it’s been a stressful week for my family with the surprise of the orphan boy within the island and the other two young boys who lost their own homes.” I can hear his stress and anxiety about that, three children within a week to take responsibility for.

“If anything you or the council is in need of please inform me, I am sorry for interrupting you in these difficult times”. I say sincerely, any job of an Alpha is a hard one to take, we take our jobs as if it’s our own life.

“I was hoping to ask to be helped but if it is too much, would you kindly direct me to another elder that is not my uncle.” I ask firmly but respectfully, it is disrespectful for any Alpha to overuse power especially to the pack, my uncle is the first elder of the organization.

“It would be best to redirect you, Alpha Jaime, allow me to contact Pezi Miller, may I ask to what the call is for?’. He asks me with a curios but tired sigh and there is where I can see Mykel seething.

“I need a group of trackers to make sure the wall Alpha Mykel builded is safe for my pack, I have no intention of doing anything out of hate but my pack deserves to be safe just as his own, if not more.” I state with a firm voice in my petition. He takes a small pause and then hit the speaker button, I know because I heard another person breathing near him.

`` What do you say to that Pezi?”. He says with a small amusement to his tone, I sit on my chair that’s nice and cold, Mykel has his now fingers in his pants, having a death stare to my telephone as he too takes a seat.

‘Seems like a good idea, I will be there tomorrow morning to have the full details of it all, please invite Alpha Mykel over.” I smile at this choice of words, I see his face not moved at all making me curious on his answer.

“Hello Elder Pezi, it’s Mykel.” His answer makes the two elders mumble on the other side, clearly taken back by the sudden greetings, I have my hand on my cheek as the other is near the phone.

‘Hello Alpha Mykel, I trust you heard what is needed from this conversation?”. The look Mykel gave me said he took the shot and is skipping like a happy little girl all over my patio.

“Crystal clear Elder Pezi and Elder Howl”. He says holding back his growl, so close at giving me the idea that he is super happy to be in this. He presses between his bridge between his eyes in frustration, “We will see each other tomorrow then. Goodnight Alphas.” They hang up from their end.
