Hide Your Love For Me
Chapter 2
His friends were stunned by his decision, given the big difference in our status.
I was from an ordinary family, while he was from a wealthy family.
It was impossible for two people with a big difference in status to get married.
But he didn't think so. He smiled and said, "I'll start from nothing. I don't want my father to leave me the family fortune. He can't still control me."
He said it nonchalantly, but he didn't know that this was the life that many people dreamed of.
During my junior internship, he took me to see my parents, and his parents had completely different attitudes towards me.
His mother liked me very much, but his father had been cold.
While eating, his father kept staring at me resentfully, as if hating that I was sitting in front of him.
Finally, Easton's mother, Lucia, couldn't stand it anymore and slammed her hand on the table, "I have something to talk to his father. You guys eat first. We'll go to our room for a bit."
Then there were noises from inside the house.
Since then, Lucia would always talk to me, teach me how to make desserts, and take me shopping and to parties.
She thought Easton's change was because of me, but I knew that even without me, he could do well if he wanted to.
When I returned my senses, Easton had already sent me a lot of messages.
He asked, "How do you want to celebrate tonight? I'll arrange the process. I won't let my baby get tired."
"Didn't you like their fish very much last time? I've ordered it."
"I didn't ask them to add any side dishes you didn't like."
"Do you want wine or drinks? I think it's better if you don't drink. You've been having stomach problems lately."
He still treated me like he always did, but the one who loved me so much finally cheated on me.

At the evening celebration banquet, everyone drank wine, joked, and confided in each other.
His friends kept plying him with wine. "Easton, you're so lucky to have such an excellent girlfriend."
"When are you going to have your wedding?"
"Let's get hammered."
I wanted to persuade him to drink, but when I thought about what he was going to do next, I didn't want to say anything.
When another glass of wine came, he waved his hand and said, "Gianna won't let me drink any more, so I'll stop here."
When he said this, he looked at me with tenderness and doting in his eyes.
I looked away, not willing to look at him.
I thought, "Is it for me not drinking anymore, or is it for his lover?"
He sensed my depression and sat next to me, "Gianna, are you feeling unwell? You're not in a good mood. If you're not happy, let's leave."
I looked at the time. It was almost time for Easton to meet his sweetheart.
I looked at the people around me and said, "I'm glad you all came, but I feel a little uncomfortable, so I'm leaving now."
Easton helped me up, his eyes full of worry, "Everyone, enjoy your meals. I've paid the bill."
He sent me downstairs and stopped a taxi for me, saying, "Gianna, I need to go to school to get my lab report. You go back first and I'll be right there, okay?"
His tone was sincere. But it was already ten o'clock. What report did he need to pick up now?
I wanted to complain about him not making a good excuse.
But then it suddenly occurred to me, I only noticed his fool excuses now.
I smiled bitterly, "Easton, can't you go tomorrow?"
I wanted to give him another chance. I never wanted to believe that he would cheat on me.
