Chapter 7

The following day, Grayson met up with the one person he could truly call a friend, Winston Collins.

Grayson had been so absorbed in running Savannah’s company that he'd had little chance to build other relationships.

Winston spotted him outside the café and immediately pulled him into a warm hug. “You’re sure you’re leaving for good? No chance of coming back?”

Grayson simply nodded, his expression unreadable.

“It’s really a shame you two couldn’t make it work,” Winston said with a tinge of regret. “I watched you both build the company from the ground up, saw it blossom into what it is today. But… why haven’t you announced the wedding cancellation?”

“There’s no need for that,” Grayson replied, his tone cool. “Let someone else take care of it.”

He motioned for Winston to follow him inside the café. Once they were seated, Grayson slid a small USB drive across the table.

Winston raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “What’s this?”

“It’s the company’s client information,” Grayson said, his voice steady. “Once I leave, I hope you can keep an eye on it when you get the chance. This company is something I built from the ground up. Consider this my thank-you gift.”

Winston studied Grayson’s face, searching for meaning in his words. “Why the formalities? But are you really only concerned about the company?”

Grayson didn’t answer, his gaze drifting toward the window. Just then, he saw something he wished he hadn’t. Savannah was dressed in a wedding gown and holding hands with Spencer as they climbed into a business van.

Winston followed Grayson’s line of sight and froze. “What’s going on?”

Grayson let out a bitter laugh. “What else? She’s taking wedding photos with someone else.”

Winston’s face turned red with fury. “She’s got no shame!”

Grayson watched as Winston stood, only to pull him back down with a quiet gesture.

After a deep breath, Winston reluctantly sat back down, his gaze locked on the van, pulling away. "This woman... you brought in every single client, and you handled the entire company’s operations. Now, she’s off taking wedding photos with another man?"

Even as they left the café, Winston’s anger continued to spill out, a torrent of disbelief on Grayson’s behalf.

Later, Grayson returned to the company. The only thing left was to re-sign the contract Spencer had so recklessly torn apart.

The contract was worthless without Grayson’s signature, but with it, he knew the company could weather the storm for at least five years, even without him at the helm.

Grayson’s parents had been taken from him in a tragic car accident when he was just a child, leaving only his older brother as family.

The two of them had faced the world’s challenges side by side, yet their dreams had pulled them in different directions. His brother had aimed to build a brand overseas, while Grayson’s dream had once been Savannah.

Even after overhearing Savannah’s words to Spencer, Grayson couldn’t deny that there had been times when he’d felt a genuine connection, moments of warmth between them during their years together.

Now, as he was about to leave, this would be his final gesture, a quiet acknowledgment of the sincerity they had shared.

The wedding photoshoot stretched on for three long days, a fleeting moment that felt like an eternity.

During this time, Spencer had been relentless with his social media updates, frequently sending Grayson photos of himself and Savannah in intimate moments, clearly trying to provoke him.

[Why aren't you joining us? I’m stealing all the spotlight. Don’t we make a perfect couple?]

[Savannah says she feels more connected to me. Are you jealous?]

Grayson stayed calm, his response measured, [I wish you both happiness.]

It wasn’t until the afternoon before Grayson was set to leave that Savannah finally returned with Spencer. She stormed into his office, her anger palpable.
