Chapter 5

On Eva's first day of awakening, her old illness relapsed.

Just like three years ago, Noah begged me to donate blood to Eva.

"Julia, please save her once again."

Noah, who dominated the business world, once again revealed his tender side.

"I will compensate you. If you are willing to stay in my house, I won't stop you anymore."

I fought for that with swollen eyes before, but now he easily agreed without me saying a word.

I suddenly wanted to laugh, but I held it back and just silently stared at him.

After a moment, I turned my gaze to Eva on the hospital bed.

She was wearing an oxygen mask, her face pale like the moonlight.

I looked at her for a good while. Her face, which resembled mine, was covered halfway as if she was about to die.

I then looked at the ring on her finger. It was something that I had been desired for ten years.

Finally, I looked at Noah again.

The man I had loved for ten years.

"Sure."

I finally replied to him, my voice trembling.

Noah jumped up and hugged me tightly, as if he wanted to rub me into his bones.

"Julia, later... I will make it up to you later."

I stiffened and forced out a wry smile.

Slowly, I hugged him back, cherishing him deeply.

Noah, this is the last time.

There won't be a second time.

I kept my promise and donated blood to Eva.

Noah readily transferred 10 million dollars to me and promised that I could freely enter and leave his villa.

He no longer mentioned the divorce agreement.

"You should go back now. I will have the driver pick you up."

Noah held Eva's hand and didn't even look at me.

I refused his arrangement and walked out alone.

At a corner of the hospital, I couldn't help but laugh.

I leaned on the railing like a complete lunatic, swaying back and forth with disheveled hair.

No matter how the people passing by tried to avoid me, I still felt thrilled.

In a great mood, I turned around to take out my phone.

I was put through after the phone rang for dozens of seconds. A cold voice came from the other end of the line.

"Have you come back to beg me at last?"

"James Norris, your daughter is dying. Don't you want to come and see her?"
