Chapter 2

Villains live for a thousand years

Before Jessica could react, she was already lifted onto the car by the bodyguards.

The car sped all the way to the hospital and stopped at the entrance.

Jessica was escorted by the bodyguards all the way to the operating room, where William pushed her coldly towards the doctor and said, "Here's the RH negative blood you need. Take as much as you want, even if it means draining her to death. But if Ms. Hughes has any mishap, the entire hospital will be buried with her!"

After saying that, William wiped his fingertips with a handkerchief, as if disgusted by just touching Jessica's body. His expression was icy and hostile.

Whoosh! It was like a bucket of cold water was poured over the head, Jessica trembled as she looked at the man she had loved with all her heart and soul during the best years of her youth. Her whole body turned cold.

She was still so foolish. Just moments ago, she thought that after five years, he might not hate her as much, and perhaps they could sit down and talk things through.

Now she realized that it was all wishful thinking.

How could he not hate her? That's the vengeance for his mother's murder. He hated her so much that he personally sent her to prison and made her five years of hell in jail with just a word.

Furthermore, who in New York City didn't know that William Davis and Mia Hughes grew up together? If she hadn't interfered back then, maybe he would have long been together with his beloved woman, spending their time intimately.

"Extracting her blood to save Mia" was indeed something he could say.

"Mr. Davis, Ms. Hughes has been severely injured in a car accident and requires a large amount of blood," said the doctor with hesitation as he examined the pale-faced Jessica up and down."However, this lady's body seems to be --"

This woman appeared out of nowhere, dressed so lightly on such a cold day, and was so excessively thin that even a gust of wind could make her fall over. As a doctor, he really couldn't bring himself to do it.

"It's okay," Jessica interrupted softly, "saving a life is more important. Just take mine, my physical condition is good, I will be totally fine."

William, who was standing by, was slightly stunned upon hearing this.

After five years, she seemed to have changed completely.

William expected that Jessica, who used to be so unrestrained, would have a strong reaction when he came to draw her blood. Even if she caused a scene and turned the hospital upside down, he would not be surprised.

But he never expected her to say that.

Why? Was it because she felt guilty for killing his mother? Or was this another new trick she came up with to play hard to get?

"Good people don't live long, and villains live for a thousand years. A woman like you, even if you have all your blood drained, you won't die, so why bother pretending to be a saint?" William lightly spoke, each word like a sharp blade that was incredibly hurtful.

Jessica's body suddenly trembled, as if she wanted to say something in defense, but ultimately couldn't say anything at all.

Let him hate her, then.

She remained silent, thinking about the love of the past ten years, and let out a slow breath.

In the end, despite the doctor's objections, Jessica truly followed William's words and gave 17fl oz of her blood to Mia.

However, due to her weakened state, she fainted shortly after leaving the hospital.

When she woke up again, she found herself lying in a hospital bed, with an IV in her right hand and the strong smell of disinfectant in the air.

Her whole body felt like it had been disassembled, and even moving slightly caused her to wince in pain.

"Are you awake?" The hospital room door suddenly pushed open, and a voice came from the doorway. Jessica thought it was a nurse, and instinctively looked up, her pained expression freezing on her face in an instant.
