Chapter 2

Knowing that my right-hand nerves were damaged and I could no longer hold a camera, William called me the next second.

He angrily scolded me, "Annie Taylor, even if you lie, there should be a limit, right? How could you deceive me? You made me go and ask Sally, making her cry for an hour!"

Seeing that I didn't say anything, he grew even angrier. "I don't care. It's your fault for defaming Sally. Come and apologize to her!"

I sneered, "Apologize? Then what about my hand being disabled? Who will apologize to me?"

"How can you be so dramatic? Your hand was just slightly injured by a stone. How could it be disabled?"

"Think whatever you want."

I hung up the phone.

Soon after, William bombarded me with texts.

I found it annoying, so I put my phone on silent.

I didn't block him as it was the last bit of dignity I left for this relationship.

My hand was injured and I couldn't hold a camera or become a journalist, so I had to find another way out.

I called my college friend.

"Henry, do you still need people for the screenwriting project you mentioned last time?"

When Henry Jackson heard that I finally changed my mind and agreed to participate in their project, he was overjoyed and promptly arranged for an assistant to talk to me.

After being with William, I voluntarily gave up a lot of things.

To be closer to him, I applied for a job as a journalist in a different field.

But in reality, my major was screenwriting, and I won awards for many projects I did with Henry and the others in college.

"Then let's have a pleasant cooperation."

I wasted 15 years of my youth for William.

Now, I wanted to reclaim all that time.
