I didn't know if it was the intoxicating sunset that day or the sincerity in that woman's eyes that was so moving.

That day, against my better judgment, I nodded.

When I woke up again, it was already broad daylight. Since hearing the news of Jenna's death, I had hardly slept so soundly.

I was still sitting on the bed in a daze when the bedroom door was pushed open and Allen walked in from the doorway.

My heart suddenly pounded faster and a ball of fire seemed to explode in my chest.

I couldn't hold back any longer and threw a fierce punch at Allen.

Allen covered his face and was about to burst into curses when Jenna's startled cry erupted.

"Sebastian Clark! What are you doing!"

Hearing this voice, the smugness on Allen's face instantly turned into grievance.

"Sebastian, I just saw that you haven't been in a good mood lately and wanted to comfort you. How could you hit someone? I know you're upset because of Jenna's death, but you can't just lose your temper like this."

Jenna stared intently at Allen's cheek, then turned her head and roared at me.

"Sebastian, he's your brother-in-law!"

I didn't respond to Jenna but instead raised my head and looked directly into her eyes.

"I'm asking you, is he really my brother-in-law?"

Jenna was stunned, seemingly frightened by my gaze.

Allen then grabbed Jenna's hand.

"Jenna, why don't you return to the room and rest with me for a while? I'm feeling a bit unwell."

Jenna seemed to want to say something more, her lips trembling slightly, but in the end, she just helped Allen away without another word.

I lowered my gaze and stood there, lost in thought, until my sister's message buzzed on my phone.

[The jet has arrived.]

I took a deep breath, got up and placed the suicide note I'd prepared earlier into the bedside drawer.

I wanted Jenna to personally find this suicide note after she learned of my death.

I wanted her to open her eyes wide and see clearly that my love for her was enough to follow her into death.

I wanted her to live day and night consumed by guilt. I wanted her to feel like she's better off dead.

After doing all this, I didn't pack anything. I just grabbed my ID and bank card before walking out the door, only to bump straight into Jenna emerging from Allen's room.

A hint of hesitation crossed her face when she saw me, but she still spoke softly.

"I'm sorry, Sebastian. I was a bit emotional just now. I didn't mean to yell at you, but you shouldn't have spoken to your brother-in-law like that either."

I couldn't be bothered to listen anymore. I raised my hand and cut her off directly.

"I think I'll go out for a walk. My sister-in-law should stay home and keep her brother-in-law company."

I deliberately emphasized the titles "eldest sister-in-law" and "brother-in-law."

Jenna didn't seem to notice the odd tone in my voice. Instead, she seemed relieved.

"Going out for a walk is good. Get some fresh air. It'll lift your spirits. Come back early and I'll have the housekeeper make some of your favorite dishes."

I nodded, but the moment I brushed past Jenna, my eyes turned sharp.
