Chapter 7

The crowd surrounded them, making a lot of noise, shouting, “Is this how you treat patients?”

She frowned and glanced at him, thinking to herself that it was not good.

That was a medical dispute.

Thinking of that, she lowered her head and dialed the security department to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Unexpectedly, when they looked up again, the angry crowd became excited again when they saw her wearing a white coat.

In an instant, she was pushed to Ezekiel's side.

Ezekiel just glanced at her coldly, then tightly clenched his hands to protect Letitia, fearing that she would get hurt.

Ivy regretted getting involved and reached out to comfort the angry family members.

Who knows. The next second, a cold silver light flashed.

“Letitia.”

She only heard Ezekiel scream and then he pushed her away and faced the dagger head-on.

Soon, the dagger stabbed her heart fiercely.

The pain spread, blood gushed out, Ivy became hoarse, her face turned pale in an instant and her consciousness gradually became blurred.

Like the tide receding, the sounds around went from noisy to silent.

Before Ivy gradually lost consciousness, she seemed to see the man who had proposed to her at the age of 18 and vowed to marry her in this life, running towards her with red eyes and hugging her shaking body.

When she regained consciousness, the anesthesia wore off and her heart felt like it was being bitten by millions of ants, the pain was unbearable.

Feeling the twitching in her palm, Ezekiel, with red eyes, immediately came over and held her hand, his face full of heartache and self-blame.

The black bag could be seen under his eyes, as if he had not rested for several days.

“Ivy, it's all my fault. The incident happened suddenly and I failed to protect you.”

Ivy looked at his self-blaming and haggard appearance, but her heart was like a pool of stagnant water.

Even though she knew that Ezekiel no longer loved her and even though she was extremely disappointed in Ezekiel, she did not expect Ezekiel to be so determined and did not expect him to treat her life as a joke.

In Ezekiel's eyes, what on earth was she?

Since Letitia could not get hurt, so did that mean Ivy should die?

She watched Ezekiel's performance intently, suppressing the pain and disappointment in her heart. After a long moment, she let out a sarcastic smile.

“Did you fail to protect me, or did you never think of protecting me at all?”

Ezekiel's hands froze, a trace of panic flashed across his face and in desperation he grabbed her hand and slapped himself in the face.

“Ivy, I know you are angry, but the situation was too urgent at the time and I mistakenly recognized the wrong person. Or you can hit me, as long as you calm down, I am willing to do anything.”

The wound on Ivy's chest was touched again and she pulled her hand back abruptly.

Looking at his hypocritical appearance, Ivy felt annoyed and bored.

Ten years of love were not as good as Letitia's two years of interference.

The moment she was stabbed by the dagger, she could not tell whether the wound hurt more or her heart hurt more. Disappointment and resentment occupied her mind.

She was leaving anyway, so let it be.

She closed her eyes and said coldly, “I'm tired, please go.”

Seeing Ivy closing her eyes and sending the guest away, Ezekiel pursed his lips helplessly, always feeling that something was wrong.

After a moment, he tucked the corner of the quilt for her in silence and went out.

Because she was in the hospital, even though she did not want to see anyone, Ezekiel still stayed by her side every day, carefully preparing nutritious meals and various gifts.

But she rejected them all, except for a countdown calendar she requested.

The days of the divas were circled in red by Ivy and the first thing she did when she woke up every day was to check the calendar.
