First Love Pregnancy: The Child Is Not Mine
Chapter 5
"The car accident caused serious damage to Spencer's eyes. Both his corneas were destroyed, and they can't be repaired. He must have a corneal transplantation surgery."
"But now the hospital is in urgent need of cornea donors..."
Emery looked at me cautiously.
I was furious.
"How could there be such a weird woman in the world? She wants to dig out her husband's corneas and give them to her first love boyfriend!"
"Okay, wait until I die." I looked at Emery indifferently.
Emery frowned, saying, "What do you mean by that?"
I didn't bother to answer Emery. I got up to leave.
She held onto me and said, "Asher, I know this request is too much, but I'm sorry for Spencer. It's my fault."
"When he was driving, it was... it was me who took the initiative to kiss him, which caused the car accident."
"Spencer is so pitiful. If I don't save him, I will have a guilty conscience for the rest of my life."
"Asher, please. I know I am asking too much, but I've never asked you for anything in my life. This time, I'm begging you..."
I looked at Emery quietly. The playfulness, disdain, and indifference in my eyes hurt her.
She stood up suddenly and said the words that would haunt me forever.
"You have two corneas. What's wrong with giving one to Spencer?"
"You only lost one cornea, but Spencer lost his bright future!"
I trembled with anger, saying, "Since you care so much about Spencer, why don't you give him your cornea?"
"What? You want me to give one to him?"
"Are you a man? Should a woman like me do this kind of thing?"
"Do you love me? You don't love me at all. Otherwise, you wouldn't say such things!"
Emery became agitated.
I ran to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and threw it to Emery.
"Fine. I'll give Spencer a cornea. Dig it."
She picked up the knife and looked into my eyes.
I felt endless sadness. This was the fate of being a lickspittle.
"I give everything to her. In the end, she wants to dig out my cornea."
"Asher, um... I can't. Let the doctor do it."
Emery put down the knife and took out a document from her bag.
"This is a voluntary corneal donation agreement. Sign it. Then we'll go to the hospital to have surgery."
She had been prepared for this. It was not an impulsive decision.
I couldn't bear it anymore. I rudely knocked Emery down and slapped her in the face.
"Emery Bradford, fuck your mother. You bitch!"
