Chapter 1

My mother asked me to go home for marriage. She said that the other party was the fiancée my father had chosen for me, and we had been engaged since childhood.

Helplessly, I ended my three-year road trip and chose to go meet my fiancée.

After all, that was the fiancée my father arranged for me before he died. If she is suitable, I will follow my father's will.

But I didn’t expect that after I contacted the other party, the other party just sent me an address.

According to the address, I arrived as scheduled and found that it was The Windsor Club.

Before I even entered the door, I was stopped by someone.

"Sir, our club is a membership-only club. You cannot enter!"

When I was stopped by the waiter, I had no choice but to call Sophia Delaney.

But I didn't expect that as soon as the call was connected, I heard Sophia's laughter.

"Haha, I didn't expect you to actually come!"

"Don't you think about it? I am the daughter of the Delaney Family and the future heir of the Delaney Family. I am already worlds apart from your family!"

"Silas Vanderbilt, you are not worthy of me!"

Sophia's mocking voice came from the other end of the line.

"Sophia, do you mean to cancel our engagement?"

I said coldly.

I ended my trip to meet Sophia, but I didn't expect to encounter something like this.

"Since you are here, let's meet!"

On the other end of the phone, Sophia apparently talked to a few people, and then said with a hint of sarcasm: "I'll send someone to pick you up!"

After saying this, she hung up the phone.

Then, I saw a man with greasy hair and powdered face walking out. He walked up to me, looked at me, and a contemptuous smile appeared on his face.

"Are you Silas? I'm Mrs. Delaney's assistant!"

He looked at me and said, "Our young lady is a gifted girl from heaven!"

"She is the richest woman in our city. You? You are not worthy of our young lady!"

As he spoke, he sneered, "Don't you see how poor you are now?"

"You don't really think that our young lady will marry you?"

Hearing this, I glanced at the other person.

I knew he disliked the way I was wearing.

In the past few years, I have been traveling and have never dressed up. My clothes are a little worn and look a bit old.

I chose to ignore what the person in front of me said.

However, now, I have become more judgmental towards my fiancée.

Even the fiancée my father chose for me, I felt that she might not be suitable for me.

In that case, just meet in person and talk things out with the other party.

After all, this is the fiancée my father chose for me, and I want to make things clear to her.

Seeing that I didn't say anything, the other party snorted coldly, then turned around and said, "Follow me closely!"

"This place is a high-end club. A country bumpkin like you will never have the chance to get in in your lifetime!"

"Don't walk around randomly, or you might bump into something!"

"I'm telling you, any brick in this place is much more valuable than your life!"

The other person looked at me with contempt in his eyes and said, "I don't know why our master would let you and our young lady get married when you were young!"

"But a country bumpkin like you has no self-awareness at all!"

"Do you really think that you can marry a wealthy wife and change your life?"

The other party kept scolding me along the way, but I simply chose to ignore him.
