Fake Promise: Abandoning My Alpha Prince
Chapter 5
“Gown?” I raised my eyebrows and looked at him, “It's not Sanah’s birthday right? At least as far as I can remember.”
Sanah was Ethan's sister, the only person in the pack who genuinely loved me. She was a beautiful white wolf with a pair of teal eyes. She was considered to be the most beautiful female Alpha in this pack.
Sanah knew that I loved to design and tailor dresses. It could be seen as my hobbies as I never made anything for outsiders but my parents, Ethan, Sanah.
I had been making a gown for her birthday since I got together with Ethan. It felt pleasant to see her beaming face every time she wore them.
…
“It's so beautiful, sister-in-law.” Sanah hugged me tight, “I would definitely cherish it.”
“Good to hear.” I smiled.
…
“Who said it's for Sanah?” Ethan still didn't move his eyes from the phone.
“Then who will wear the gown?” I cocked my brows, “It's not you, I guess.”
Ethan’s face turned black again as he twisted his mouth, “Medusa, don't joke.”
He passed me his tab and showed me a design.
“Follow it closely and do a good job.” He muttered, not knowing how unreasonable he was sounding.
The photo was from Clara's chat app moments where she captioned it well: [Only if I could get it on my special day!]
“And you will look like an ass.” I really wanted to be petty for once to say it out loud. But fussing over this in the morning was not my thing.
I didn't say a thing, making the living room feel unnervingly quiet.
But Ethan didn't seem to care about my thoughts, his oh-so-bullshiting-request and looking at me as if he would only expect a Yes.
“When do you want it?” I looked at him directly.
“Two days later.” He murmured.
“Okay.” I nodded, having my coffee, “Send me the photo. Oh remember to arrange the materials too.”
“Isn't it better if you get it by yourself?” He raised his eyebrows, “After all, you have better knowledge.”
“Sure, send Merry to accompany me.” With this I went upstairs.
…
Moving on to my bedroom, I focused on the design. I remembered the days nine years ago.
“Wow! Medu, you are so good at this.” The teenager Alpha Prince grasped.
“No no, I am not that good.” The seventeen year old Omega who never received any acknowledgement from anyone gasped, “I just tried.”
“Can you make a suit too?” Ethan giggled, “I would like to wear it on the next Gala.”
“Sure.” I was very happy to do this for you.
I recalled how he forced me to make a gown for myself too. It was flowy and beautiful.
For the first time I accompanied him in a Gala, shocking everyone.
…
“Ethan Elphine,” I hissed under my breath when Lana, my Wolf's face darkened too, she was no longer weak for that bastard Alpha.
“This is the last time I am doing something for you. After making this dress, we are done.”
My chest felt heavy when I continued the design and it would take me whole days.
I didn't have any trace when the outside turned darker and it was already evening.
When I looked up, I encountered a familiar figure. It was Ethan.
“Medusa…” he started, his voice unsure.
I didn't bother stopping the work.
"Anything else?" I asked, my tone flat.
There was a pause before he spoke again. "...I'll MoneyTM you for the ingredients."
I continued on with my work without a word.
After I finished, I went out to get some fresh air.
When I stepped in the garden, I pulled out my phone, Ethan already sent me the money.
I opened the chat app and then our chat history.
6,321 messages…that much!
And they were all sent from my side.
Ethan only replied 30 even with an ‘OK’ most of the time.
“It's hard to care.” I smirked and looked at the beautiful sky above my head.
“Pretty.” I mumbled.
Upstairs, Ethan's room buzzed with the notification of $2000 sent back to him.
I tittered when I imagined his face.
Maybe he would shed his pheromones again and clenched the phone tightly.
Men didn't know what they wanted! Or they just wanted everything which could not be possible.
For the two days, I worked hard continuously. Aside from having meals and sleeping, I didn't have much time left. I went out only the day when Merry took me to buy the materials.
Two days later, at night around nine, when I was having rice cakes, Ethan's name flashed on my phone screen.
“What?” I was too tired to beat around the bush.
“Medusa, where are you?” His voice sounded conscious.
I was sitting in my favourite cafe, devouring my favourite dishes before leaving for all.
But I dodged his question, “Why did you call me so late?”
“Nothing…” Ethan's voice was softer now, “I want to thank you for the dress. It is pretty as always.”
“Oh.” My tone was indifferent and flat.
It was not like I wanted to make it.
There was a brief silence before he spoke again, “Thank you for your hard work.”
“How about I take you to your favourite restaurant for a meal?” he added in a lower voice.
But before I could reply, Clara snatched the phone.
“Medusa, thank you so much for your dress.” She was giggling like a schoolgirl, “I’m looking like a fairy.”
“Are you sure?” I laughed at Lana’s pettiness and shook my head.
Of course, we couldn't say that out loud nor did Clara stop talking.
“You are so good at it. I hope I can be like you.” She gasped, “But you know I’m always clumsy. Ethan always calls me dumb Wolfie.”
I could picture her pouting as she spoke.
Before I could even process her words, she invited me to the party.
“Why don't you come here too. It's so fun.” Her giggling didn't stop all this time.
But I didn't get a chance to respond before Preston's voice returned to the line. "Well, you should rest.”
After that he hung up.
But just a few minutes later, my phone buzzed again. It was a message from him, with his location pinned and a note attached:
[If you do stop by, grab some soft drinks for us.]
