Chapter 2

However, before I could speak, Monica began to cry.

She choked with sobs, "Irene, I know you're unhappy that I'm back. I also know that you don't want to see me in the company. But Mom and Dad have requested it. I don't want to take your things either."

Before I could react, a strong force came. The next second, I fell to the ground. The pain made me cry in an instant.

Sandra said to me impatiently, "What?

"What are you crying for? You made your sister cry. You should feel lucky that I didn't drive you out! Stop crying!"

I ignored Sandra's words. I just cried so hard that I almost couldn't catch my breath.

Felix also heard the noise. He hurried over and asked what was going on.

Sandra told Felix what had happened just now. Then, Felix's face darkened.

He said to me in a deep voice, "Don't you know who you are now? It's good enough for you to be a receptionist at the company in the future! You should be grateful."

I sobbed.

"I didn't say that I wouldn't teach her. I remember what you have taught me since I was a child. I respected everyone I met. My sister is younger than me. How would I not teach her seriously? I grew up under your guidance and education. How could I be some unreasonable person?"

My words made Felix and Sandra a little embarrassed. They turned to look at Monica beside them.

Monica was embarrassed, too.

She stammered, "I probably didn't hear Irene clearly. I misunderstood you, Irene. I'm sorry."

I wiped away my tears with my hand and took Monica's hand.

I said to her, "You're my sister. How can I be angry with you? I'll definitely teach you well and let you make the Pratt Group one of the top 100 companies in the world!"

Then, I turned to look at Felix.

I said sincerely, "Dad, after finishing teaching Monica, I will leave the Pratt Group. I won't covet her things."

But Felix firmly refused me when he heard this.

"No. You're in charge of several major projects. What if they withdraw their investment after you leave? We'll talk about it later!"

After that, Felix left quickly.

At this moment, I felt that things between the four of us were really dramatic.

Sandra looked at me unhappily.

She said to me, "He was just saying. Let me tell you, the Pratt family has nothing to do with you in the future. It's all Monica's."

Then, Sandra held Monica's hand and left. But before Monica left, she turned her head and smiled provocatively at me.

I lowered my head and chuckled. I had a hunch that life in the Pratt family would definitely be very interesting in the future.

Although I had been pampered since I was a child, I had never been happy.

Felix and Sandra were so strict with me that I almost became depressed.

In the best-case scenario, they would scold me when I did something they thought was wrong. In the worst-case scenario, they would beat me with a wooden stick.

I sighed in my heart, Monica, I've suffered for you for more than ten years. You should be happy.

I won't hold back if you mess with me again.

Monica was really stupid. I had to repeat the same explanation four or five times before she could finally understand.

Felix and Sandra were actually expecting that Monica could carry forward the family business. But that was ridiculous.

"Baby, did she make it clear to you?" Sandra asked Monica.

At the same time, Sandra gave Monica a glass of warm milk, completely ignoring me, who was sitting next to Monica.

"Well... Irene is a good teacher. It's just that I'm so stupid. I let you and Dad down. I'm so useless."

As Monica spoke, she began to cry again. I rolled my eyes speechlessly, which happened to be seen by Sandra.

The next second, Sandra slapped me in the face, and the diamonds on her nails scratched my face.

"I asked you to teach Monica. Don't try to go through the motions. We've raised you for so many years. Now, it's time for you to repay our kindness! I've taught you a lesson today. If this happens again, I'll really kick you out of the Pratt family!"
