Chapter 1

I won one hundred million dollars in the lottery, but before I could tell my husband Dolf Wall, he threw the divorce agreement in my face.

"You can't make a penny but spend my money and be idle at home. I've had enough of you being such a burden!"

Before I could say anything, my son Bob Wall threw himself into the arms of Dolf's mistress and said coquettishly, "I can finally get rid of my ugly mother. She can't even afford a pair of thirty thousand dollars sneakers. I want to live a good life with you, my beautiful auntie!"

I clenched the lottery ticket in my pocket, and tears instantly welled up, soaking the signed divorce agreement.

Looking at Dolf and Bob who felt no guilt, I made up my mind and said, "Let's get a divorce. Let's see who will be the burden!"

Mia was sitting astride his lap when I broke into Dolf's office.

She blushed, her clothes were half open, and a few red marks were on her chest.

It was obvious that they were doing something immoral.

When she heard the door open, Mia trembled with fear.

When she saw it was me, she calmed down.

She buttoned her clothes leisurely and held my arm affectionately.

"Kristina, don't overthink. I didn't stand steadily, so Dolf just helped me up."

I pushed Mia away with shaking hands.

I spoke in a hoarse voice, "We are all adults. Don't try to fool me. I am not blind."

Mia was the secretary of Dolf.

The relationship between the two was exposed.

I looked at Dolf, hoping he could explain it to me.

If he had cried, been regretted, or kneeled to beg for my forgiveness, I would have felt better.

But Dolf calmly zipped up his pants, hugged Mia, and kissed her on the face.

"Don't waste your time talking to that bitch. Didn't you ask me when I'm going to get a divorce? I'm going to answer you now."

Dolf threw the divorce agreement at my feet.

"Now you saw it, so I don't have to explain. Kristina, you don't make a penny, but keep spending my money. I've had enough of you! Let's get a divorce!"

I took a few deep breaths and asked him in a daze, "Who did you just call a bitch?"

With Dolf's support, Mia became more arrogant.

"We're the only two women here. Undoubtfully, he was calling you bitch."

"Then I'll show you what a real bitch is!"

I raised my hand to slap Mia in the face.

Suddenly, a small figure jumped out from the corner.

He opened his arms and stood in front of Mia.

It was my son, Bob.

"You ugly woman, I won't let you bully my pretty auntie, if you have the guts, then hit me!"

"Bob, why are you here? Do you know who this woman is?"

"How could you talk to your mother like this? Come here!"

"Dolf, you're shameless. You even bring Bob with you when you're having an affair!"

Bob's appearance made me completely lose my mind.

Seeing Bob protecting another woman made me more painful than when I caught Dolf cheating.

I pulled Bob towards me as hard as I could.

"Bob, I bought you a pair of sneakers..."

Before I could finish my words, he pinched my arm hard.

When I let go because of the pain, he turned around and ran into Mia's arms.

"Pretty auntie, my dad is getting divorced, so will you be my new mother?

"I can finally get rid of this old woman who can't even afford a pair of thirty-thousand-dollar sneakers. I want to live a better life with you!"

Dolf crossed his arms and said according to Bob's words, "Mia is different from your mother. Mia can make money and is willing to buy you anything you want!"

I thought Dolf deeply loved me and Bob was sensible, but I didn't expect that they would think of me in this way!

Dolf and I had been a couple since we were in campus.

After we graduated and got married, I soon became pregnant with Bob.

Bob had been sickly since childhood.

I often received a call from the nanny while I was at work, asking me to go to the hospital because Bob had a high fever again.

I was exhausted from balancing my family and career.

Dolf couldn't bear to see this, so he advised me to resign and also made a promise.

"Kristina, a man should work hard to make money. You should be rest assured and take care of our son at home. I will support you!"

I looked at Bob lying on the hospital bed, calling me pitifully.

I was soft-hearted.

I made up my mind, quit my job with a monthly salary of over ten thousand dollars, and became a full-time housewife.

Bob had a sensitive stomach and would vomit and have diarrhea if the food was slightly unclean.

Every meal he had was prepared by me with great care.

His underwear and bedding must be changed every day, otherwise he would have allergic reactions and rashes all over his body.

When I resigned, Dolf's income was not enough to cover the family's expenses.

So I recommended him to the manager of the personnel department of my previous company and helped him with my resources.

His career was steadily developed, while I was busy with trivial things in daily life and focused on taking care of my family.

However, Dolf cheated on me and even called me bitch and Bob said I was old and ugly.

I was desperate as if I had died.

Seeing that I remained silent, Bob shouted at me, "Mom, are you not willing to divorce for you are not willing to give up my dad's money?

"Only well-matched people can get married. If you can't contribute to your family, you deserve to be abandoned!

"You have been too lazy to work and just want to be a loser at home."

I was very angry.

How could a child at such a young age understand what were marriage and losers?

These must have been taught to Bob by Dolf and Dolf's mother Maria.

But I couldn't understand, how could Bob just turn a blind eye to my care for him?

Moreover, back then, Dolf, who came from rural, could not afford our wedding, and his parents scraped together ten thousand dollars.

My parents helped arrange the wedding and gave us eighty thousand dollars.

My parents paid for the down payment on our house and bought us a car.

And before I resigned, I earned much more than Dolf.

I even found him a decent and high-paying job.

And...

I clenched the lottery ticket in my hand hardly.

The last thing I was short of right now was money.
