Chapter 1

I was suffering from appendicitis when the earthquake struck.

My boyfriend called 911 for me and left in a hurry, saying he was worried about his parents.

I received the surgery alone, then I saw a picture of him hugging another girl, his cousin, on sociall media.

This is my knight. He will always be there whenever I need him!

I know, he lied to me again.

All relatives praised their intimate relationship in the comment section, and I also liked this update and left my sincere blessing.

Anyway, there is no blood relationship between you, why don't you get married!

——

I am afraid of going to the hospital, and even more afraid of surgery. Chad Andson is a doctor, he knows it better than anyone else.

When he carried me into the ambulance and hurried away, I wanted to be angry but didn't dare to show it because he was worried about his parents.

When the anesthetic was injected into my body, I was still worried about the safety of his parents.

Until I woke up after the operation, no one responded to all my concerns.

On the contrary, the chat group of his relatives was extremely lively.

I clicked on the chat history and scrolled up, and everyone was praising the good relationship between Chad and his cousin, Elisabeth Garcia.

I clicked on Elisabeth's social media, and saw the photo that Chad hugging her tightly, and the sentence.

This is my knight. He will always be there whenever I need him!

I held back all the curse words and calmly clicked the like button and sent my blessing comment.

It was not until the day I was discharged from the hospital that Chad came to see me.

I knew he was mad at my comment.

He wanted to be cold to me again.

Now I guess it’s about time, and I feel like I’ve calmed myself down just like I always have.

He casually glanced at my wound and said calmly,

"You are recovering well. Remember to eat a light diet after you return home."

"Well."

He looked around and when he found no one was around he wanted to get closer to me, but I moved away from him.

He was somewhat stunned and puzzled.

"Celina, are you still angry? I've already told you that this is just a minor operation. You can take care of yourself."

After that, he took out a small jewelry box from his pocket, inside of which lay a pair of pearl earrings.

"I was wrong, isn't that ok?"

I glanced at the earrings and didn't accept his apology gift.

If I forgive him as if nothing happened, will he not even take out the gift?

"I'm not angry, thank you for your kindness."

He always has a good grasp of my emotions.

He thought that if he gave me some sweetness, we would be able to reconcile as if nothing had happened.

If it were in the past, as long as he was willing to coax me, I would forgive him immediately even if I was still angry.

But this time it's different.

The moment I saw that photo, I realized.

He didn't love me as much as I thought.

"I'm glad you're not angry. I thought you were jealous again..."

"Can I go and complete the discharge procedures?"

I don't want to hear his explanation, and his explanation will eventually turn into my unreasonableness and sensitivity.

He immediately helped me complete the discharge procedures.

The wound in my abdomen was aching slightly, so I won't refuse his help.

"Celina, I prepared a surprise for you at home."

On the way home, Chad looked at me with some anticipation in his eyes.

"Oh, thanks."

"Aren't you expecting a surprise?"

"I feel pain in my abdomen. I don't want to guess."

Chad then noticed that I looked a little pale, and he was a little surprised.

"Your wound is healing well, why do you have stil feel pain?"

I was suffering from menstrual cramps and didn't want to pay attention to him.

He frowned and stopped the car. He raised his hand to lift my clothes to see the wound. I held his hand down.

"It's okay, it will be fine in two days."

Only then did he remember that I was having my period.

As his brows relaxed, he looked at me with some doubt, and finally said slowly,

"Celina, are you still feeling unhappy? Are you blaming me for abandoning you..."

"You're making me feel worse."

Chad's voice stopped abruptly.

From the corner of my eyes I could see his unhappy expression.

He is angry.

He is angry that I do not accept his kindness.
