Ex-boyfriend's Crazy Pursuit

As soon as we got home and opened the door, a fragrant breeze blew by, and there was a person hanging on Chad's arm. It was Elisabeth.

"Chad, why did you come back just now? I'm so hungry."

I glanced at the two of them and walked into the house without saying a word.

"No, why is Celina ignoring me?"

Elisabeth's face was full of grievance.

Chad didn't expect me to be so rude and he was about to speak up for Elisabeth, I interrupted him.

"So this is the surprise you prepared for me. Thank you."

Chad's eyes followed my gaze to his arm, and then I realized that he and Elisabeth were too intimate.

He immediately pulled his hand out and explained.

"Elisa came here specially to celebrate your discharge from the hospital. I gave her the password. I told you that we are relatives. Why are you..."

I paused.

"No need to explain. I know you two are closer than siblings."

Elisabeth was a little embarrassed and ran to the kitchen immediately.

"Chad, go take care of Celina. I'll go prepare the feast."

I was in so much pain that I didn't have the strength to speak, so I went back to my room and lay down.

Chad brought over a cup of hot water.

"Just drink more hot water."

I closed my eyes and said,

"Can you buy me a bag of brown sugar?"

As soon as I just finished speaking, I heard Elisabeth shouting in the kitchen.

"Oh my god! It's so hot!"

Chad rushed over like an arrow.

I heard him ask Elisabeth with concern.

"Where did you get burned? Does it hurt? Stop it right now and rinse it with cold water. I'll go buy you some burn ointment."

The door slammed shut, showing how anxious he was.

I thought to myself, maybe he would bring me a bag of brown sugar as well?

Ten minutes later, Chad came back.

He applied the burn ointment to Elisabeth and came to the room to call me.

"Celina, Elisa originally said she would cook a big meal for you, but now she's injured, let's go out to eat!"

Elisabeth also walked into the room and apologized to me with red eyes.

"Celina, it's all my fault for being clumsy."

I took a look at the peanut-sized red mark on her hand, then looked at Chad's empty hands. It seemed that he didn't hear me asking to buy brown sugar.

"It's okay, I'm not going, I'm not hungry."

I don't know what Elisabeth's plan is, but she changed her mind and insisted on cooking this meal at home.

I feel a lot of pain in my abdomen that I didn't want to speak, so I just closed my eyes and let them toss me around.

When I woke up, the abdominal pain was relieved a lot.

In the kitchen, Chad was busy working in an apron, and Elisabeth lent a hand from time to time and wiped his sweat. The two of them cooperated seamlessly.

"Celina, are you awake? It's time for us to have dinner!"

The dining table is filled with delicious dishes.

I was a little stunned.

Thanks to Elisabeth, I was able to enjoy the banquet that Chad had promised me countless times but never did.

But no one prepared my tableware.

Elisabeth immediately instructed Chad to get my tableware.

The apology on her face and the familiarity with which she instructed Chad made me seem like a outsider.

Chad sat down and started to pick up food for Elisabeth.

When I took out the tableware, Elisabeth had already put a bunch of dishes in her bowl.

I picked two green vegetables, ate a few bites and put down my fork.

"Take your time eating."

Chad was surprised.

"Why are you only eating so little? I cooked so much, why don't you at least try some of it? These ingredients were all purchased by Elisa at the supermarket early in the morning."

"The doctor told me to eat a light diet."

He forgot the medical instructions he had given a few hours ago.

Seeing Chad's embarrassed expression, Elisabeth immediately touched his arm.

He pursed his lips and said softly,

"I'm sorry, I haven't cooked for a long time and I'm confused."

This was the first time in three years of dating that he sincerely admitted his mistake.

But his sincere admission of his mistake made me feel extremely ironic.

If Elisabeth wasn't here, what he would definitely blurt out would be. I was wrong, is that not enough?
