Three Years After Breaking Up, Ex-boyfriend Seeks Love Again
Chapter 3
After a while, people started getting drunk. With the help of alcohol, their courage grew, and they spoke more boldly, "Zoey, why did you break up with Edwin?"
After being stunned for a few seconds, I said in a serious voice for everyone to hear, "Actually, I feel that being in a relationship with him is like being a senior, so it is better to break up."
In conclusion, it could only be understood but not explained.
Suddenly, the whole room became eerily quiet.
A little stunned, Edwin looked at me with a frown.
I couldn't help but turn dramatic suddenly.
With teary eyes, I stared at him, and with a slightly aggrieved tone, I said, "Mr. Jayden, isn't that right?"
I must have been drunk.
A guy suddenly understood and gave Edwin a thumbs up.
I was confused, wondering.
"Shouldn't they humiliate Edwin severely on my behalf?
Why are they praising him?
How should I respond to this?"
I couldn't just say, "Yes, Edwin is really in great shape!"
Edwin changed his cold look and smiled. "I've always been gentle and considerate to my girl."
I couldn't refute it. "Ah, yes, yes."
Listening to Edwin's words, my face inexplicably felt hot.
To relieve the awkwardness, I made an excuse to go to the bathroom.
Once I came out, I felt free.
"If I had known the relationship between Edwin and Patrick, I would never have come here no matter what."
I secretly complained.
When I was about to go back to the room, I heard some noise from the men's bathroom next door.
I paused.
"Damn, this is the first time I see Edwin's girl. She is so pretty."
"That's because Edwin has good taste."
One of the men asked while washing his hands, "Do you think Edwin is really into her?"
"Of course, didn't you see the doting look in Edwin's eyes?"
"Over the years, besides that girl, who else can make Edwin jealous?"
The man suddenly realized, "I know. Edwin spoiled her."
The man next to him agreed, threw the cigarette butt on the ground, and stomped on it. "Otherwise, who do you think would dare to spread rumors like that given Edwin's character?"
"Is it that serious?" I wondered.
"Thank goodness Edwin dotes on his girl."
The voices of the two men gradually faded away.
I breathed a sigh of relief and finally came out of the bathroom.
"Does Edwin dote on me a lot?
Why don't I feel it all?
He just teased me. How is that spoiling?" I just couldn't understand.
...
When I returned to the room, I realized that most people had already left.
Only Patrick and Edwin, who seemed drunk, were left.
Edwin lay lazily on the sofa, his eyes closed, half asleep. His elbow propped up, and it seemed that a button under the collar of his shirt had popped open.
Without giving me a chance to refuse, Patrick just left Edwin to me and left.
I couldn't believe he was so afraid of looking after Edwin.
Maybe he just didn't want to pay for the taxi fare?
What a stingy man...
Feeling annoyed, I looked at the drunken Edwin and felt the urge to kill him.
The box was filled with the smell of alcohol.
Looking at his closed eyes, I couldn't help but feel my heart skip a beat.
Suddenly, I smelled the scent of whiskey.
Did he drink whiskey after I left?
With doubts in mind, I pushed his shoulder gently and said, "Edwin, wake up."
Edwin half-opened his eyes, still drowsy, and murmured, "Is it my honeybunny?"
I shook my head, "No, I'm Zoey."
Edwin said in a hoarse voice, "Nonsense! You are not Zoey. My honeybunny is called Zoey."
I wanted to retort, but Edwin closed his eyes again.
He must have been drunk.
"Fuck you, Edwin. You abandoned me and went abroad to have fun. Now you hurried back and showed up in front of me like this. Why? Do you wanna marry me?"
I cursed at him boldly, knowing that he couldn't hear me.
In fact, Edwin's friend was right about me. I am a very dramatic person.
But what they don't know is that I also love to get physical, especially with Edwin.
I leaned in and pinched his nose, causing him to struggle for breath.
Edwin's face turned visibly red.
He suddenly opened his eyes and asked softly, "Are you trying to suffocate me?"
I just felt my face burning. "Don't say it so bluntly."
Edwin changed position, sitting up straight.
I couldn't help but take a step back.
Edwin pulled my clothes and said, "I lost my ID card."
I was puzzled.
He looked at me pitifully and said, "I can't book a hotel. Can you let me stay with you tonight?"
I was going to leave him there.
But my conscience told me to take him home.
"Poor thing. I'll just keep him for one night." I thought to myself.
