Chapter 1

Fergus Ricci called me when I was going home after the party.

"Where did you go tonight?" His tone was frighteningly calm.

He disliked me going to such occasions, and the consequences of the last time were still fresh in my mind.

Thus, I lied, saying that I went to my parents' house.

He was silent for a while, then chuckled.

"I think we need to start living together."

I felt that he was threatening me.

"Wait for me at home, and I'll come to you now."

Having finished speaking, he hung up the phone.

I had an intuition that it would be terrible if we lived together.

During this time, I could clearly feel that something was wrong with him.

He became more impulsive, irritable, and controlling.

It was vastly different from his previous gentle and humble character.

I was afraid he would do something out of line.

Thus, I hurried back to my room and packed my clothes.

He needed to calm down for a while. If I got caught by him, something awful would happen to me.

While packing, I called Doris, my best friend.

"Honey, are you home? I want to stay at your home for a few days."

She asked me in surprise, "Now?"

"Yes, right now."

"Yet, I'm not in Azure City right now. You sound so anxious. What happened?"

I had no time to explain to her, so I said goodbye in a hurry and then hung up the phone.

Picking up my luggage, I checked my ID and bank card.

I went downstairs and took a taxi to the best hotel in Azure City.

In my view, even if he knew I was here, he couldn't find which room I was in.

Besides, I had confidence in the security of this hotel.

After getting off the bus, I walked quickly into the lobby, carrying my luggage.

I quickly checked in and asked carefully before leaving, "Will the guest's information and room number be leaked at will?"

The girl at the front desk explained with a smile, "It's impossible! Don't worry, and it will never happen."

After getting the answer I wanted, I breathed a sigh of relief.

As I arrived at the room, the room number on the door caught my attention as I opened it.

It was 1215.

Coincidentally, the number matched my birthday.

In the room, I lay on the soft bed and let out a breath.

How dramatic it was!

Fergus was so scary recently in every aspect.

He was clinging to me during this time, but before that, he had been quite sensible.

I remembered he was trapped in my house in a rainstorm.

At that moment, I asked him to stay in my guest room for one night, but he refused, saying it was inappropriate.

Grabbing an umbrella, he rushed into the wind and rain, disappearing without a trace, and I could not stop him.

But now, sticking to each other every day couldn't satisfy him.

It made me feel suffocated.

Ding!

Suddenly, I received text messages, and they were from Fergus.

[Where are you?]

[You don't take my words seriously again.]

[You're hiding from me.]

[Why are you hiding from me?]

His messages popped up on my phone one after another.

I held my forehead and wondered how to reply to him.

When I was thinking, the screen was already filled with questions from him.

I replied: [Calm down.]

He sent another message: [You are the one who should calm down. I love you so much, but you want to run away from me. I don't understand.]

I had no idea how to explain it to him.

In the end, I had to reply to him: [We'll talk when you calm down.]

After replying, I turn off your phone.

I was afraid that he would call me non-stop.

After turning off my phone, I started to feel bored and slowly fell asleep.

In a trance, I suddenly heard someone knocking on the door.

I opened my eyes, and the room was dark.

It shouldn't be daybreak yet.

The knocking sounds at the door became more and more rapid.

I was startled because the hotel staff wouldn't knock on my door in the middle of the night.

I tiptoed to the door, looking out through the peephole.

It was Fergus.

"Oh my. It's done for! How did he find the place?" I thought to myself.

The hotel was unreliable.

He was outside the door, wearing the khaki windbreaker I bought for him.

At that time, I felt that it was very suitable for him.

But now, the man outside the door had deep eyes and a powerful aura.

Under such circumstances, the coat seemed to be quite out of place with him.

With a bottle of water in his hand, he knocked on the door, but there was no response.

He shook the bottle of water impatiently.

He then raised his hand and knocked on the door again.
