Chapter 2

I pressed my face against the door and then shivered with fear.

"You open the door, or I go in."

I was frightened by the look of him.

I asked timidly, "Is there any difference?"

He chuckled, saying gently, "Bess, of course, there is a difference.

"If you open the door now, let's go back to your house and talk.

"If I go in, then we can only go to my house and talk."

I remained silent, thinking that he was lying.

I was not that stupid.

Besides, I didn't think he could get in.

I just guessed that he was able to find me because he secretly left a locator on me.

Yet, he might not have a room card.

Back to my bed, I turned on my phone.

I contacted hotel staff and tried to get security to get the guy outside the door away.

When the call was connected, I quickly explained the situation.

The staff promised to come immediately within five minutes.

At this time, he continued to threaten me outside the door.

"I heard you calling. This is your choice, and don't regret it." His voice was cold.

After a while, the sound of footsteps of many people was heard in the corridor.

I pressed my ear against the door and listened to the sounds outside.

There were no expected conflicts.

The security personnel greeted Fergus with great respect.

"Mr. Ricci, why are you here?"

"Mr. Ricci? What Mr. Ricci?

Did he own the hotel?" I wondered.

I dispelled the idea later because he told me before that he came from an ordinary family!

He never told me about it.

Damn it! I found that I got cheated.

I felt disappointed, and my fists were clenched.

"Give me the room card."

The door opened with a click.

Instantly, the cold air rushed into the room.

After coming in, he quickly closed the door and locked it.

I leaned against the wall, not daring to move or look at him.

The moment he came in, I was deflated.

Fergus took off his windbreaker and threw it on the bed.

The terrible scene I had imagined did not happen.

He stood in front of me and stared at me.

"Why aren't you wearing shoes?" Fergus said gently.

I muttered quietly, "I was scared by you."

He found the slippers and bent down to put them on me.

"Are you scared by me?

"Take it easy. Otherwise, wouldn't you be even more scared then?"

My heart sank when I heard this.

"What... What do you mean?" I was so nervous that I stuttered.

It turned out that he was such a scary person.

He was controlling and irritable, which was unbearable for any normal person.

The one I had pursued was the gentle and sweet boyfriend.

He didn't respond but pulled a stool and sat in front of me.

The water bottle was placed at his feet.

"Where did you go tonight?"

He crossed his legs, tapping his fingers on his legs.

His eyes were fixed on me.

I was quickly thinking about how to lie about lying.

But after thinking about it, I feel there was no way to turn the situation around.

So, I just told the truth.

Pretending to be calm, I replied, "I went to a class reunion. What's wrong?"

"Didn't you say you went back to your parents' house? Why did you lie to me?" he pressed on.

I wondered why he knew it clearly but kept asking.

"Don't you know why I lied? Isn't it because I'm afraid you'll be angry?

"I still remember clearly what happened after you caught me at the last party."

He stared at me without uttering a word and gave me a meaningful look.

Then he sighed. "You can't do this..."

While speaking, he picked up the bottle of water from his feet and handed it to me.

"Drink it, and I'll take you away."

I stiffened for a moment.

I had no idea what he meant.

In the past, I dated various boys but never met a crazy like him.

"What is this?" I asked cautiously, glancing at the bottle of water.

He sneered in surprise. "What else could it be? Just water. You must have drunk alcohol at the party. Drinking some water will make your stomach feel better when you're in the car later."
