Dealing with Mother-in-Law's Evil Swap
Chapter 3
After that day, the nanny moved into our home. I had her prepare a lot of greasy food for my in-laws every day.
Meanwhile, I stuck to extremely light and healthy meals.
"Unlucky people like you deserve to eat this kind of food," Tracy said, shoving fatty meat into her mouth while eyeing my nutritious meal.
I just smiled and said nothing.
Go ahead, eat more; after all, your child will ultimately die in your womb.
I fed Tracy like I was feeding a pig, keeping a close watch on her every day, terrified she might suddenly decide to go to the hospital for a check-up or even accidentally miscarry.
I wanted her to feel the despair and pain I experienced in my past life when my child was born still.
As the days passed, Tracy grew increasingly irritable, but her belly was expanding at a very slow rate.
In contrast, my own belly was growing normally, with my child thriving inside.
She felt proud, believing her son was different from others, needing more nutrition, which was why he was growing slowly.
"Oh, my dragon prince is just special. He needs a lot of nutrition, which is why he grows slowly!"
"Unlike some unlucky people, whose bellies are so big they might burst!"
But only I knew that her son had already died; her belly was only getting bigger because the food I fed her was making her gain weight.
Tracy became increasingly overweight, resembling a moving mound of flesh, with layers of fat accumulating around her abdomen, completely obscuring any sign of a pregnancy.
Yet she didn't find anything strange about it; every day, she just opened her mouth wide for the nanny to shove food into it.
"My son is so good; he even knows how to nourish his mother. Being fat is a blessing, unlike those wretched women who look pale and thin during pregnancy."
As the due date approached, she had turned into a blob of flesh lying on the bed, with fat spilling over the edges, creating a rather disturbing sight.
Unlike the stillness of her belly in my past life, this time her belly was rising and falling every day.
So she didn't notice anything unusual, just like before.
"My son is so strong. He truly deserves to be called a dragon prince!" She struggled to lift her head and stared at the bulge on her belly.
But in reality, that was just her stomach and intestines reacting. Her child had long been dead.
With the due date fast approaching, I grew increasingly anxious, urging George to come home every day.
"George Lloyd, you must be here when I give birth." I said, wiping my tears.
George on the other end of the phone seemed helpless, repeatedly assuring me that he would definitely be home before I gave birth.
Eventually, Tracy's belly stopped growing, and she could only lie in bed, gasping for breath, surrounded by the stench of feces and urine.
She could no longer get up to use the toilet and had to rely on a bedpan, but with her excessive weight, it was difficult to clean herself properly.
Watching Tracy rot away in bed, I couldn't help but chuckle.
There was only one month until the due date, and I had already packed my hospital bag, eagerly anticipating the arrival of my child.
However, Tracy suddenly began to act up, crying out every day that she felt terrible and wanted to go to the hospital.
The family tried to comfort and persuade her, telling her to endure it for the sake of the baby.
"You're carrying a dragon prince. He's definitely different from an ordinary child. If you're feeling uncomfortable, just bear with it for the baby."
But soon, her discomfort kept her awake all night, and she lost a lot of weight.
Every day, she screamed and cursed at everyone, venting her pain.
Hearing her wails, the nanny couldn't take it anymore and cautiously suggested, "Should we take her to the hospital? After all, she is a high-risk pregnant woman..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Wade slapped her to the ground.
"You outsider, why are you meddling in our family's affairs? Are you trying to harm my son?" he said fiercely.
I walked over to help the nanny up and gently said, "Yes, after all, Tracy is carrying a dragon prince. He doesn't like an ordinary child. Heaven is watching over her, so we shouldn't worry."
Wade nodded in satisfaction and then asked me, "Aren't you also about to give birth? Is there any sign?"
I immediately frowned and pretended to be worried, saying, "Not yet. Sigh, the way ordinary people carry their pregnancies is just different from how Tracy is carrying hers. Look how energetic she is!"
Wade then dismissed his doubts, telling me to take care of myself and also to help Tracy during her postpartum recovery.
By now, Tracy could hardly eat because of the pain, and seeing her lose weight day by day, Wade decided something had to be done.
So he brought in some equipment previously used for feeding livestock and had it attached to Tracy.
"Eat more, dear; consider it for the baby," he said.
Tracy could only open her mouth wide to accept the food, tears streaming down her face, which had become distorted from her weight, quickly disappearing into the folds of flesh.
Every time she stubbornly kept her mouth shut and refused to eat, and Wade would force her to open it.
"Eat properly; don't starve my son! If anything happens to him, I'll kill you!"
Wade was disturbed by her constant wailing, making him increasingly irritable.
"Why not move Tracy to the basement? Otherwise, the dragon prince might not even be born, and you won't be able to handle it," I suggested sympathetically.
Wade looked at me and nodded in agreement.
"You're right; we need to move her down there; otherwise, people might think I'm beating my wife every day!"
But Tracy was now too large and heavy, so we had to call in movers for help.
"Wow, what are you moving? This must weigh four to five hundred pounds!"
The movers were shocked when they saw the box.
Just as Wade was about to say something, I interrupted him.
"Oh, it's just a pig sent by our rural relatives. We can't keep it upstairs, so we'll put it in the basement until we have time to slaughter it."
I smiled sweetly, and Wade nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, yeah!"
