Dealing with Mother-in-Law's Evil Swap Chapter 1

My mother-in-law dreamed that a real dragon had crawled into her belly.

The next day, she tested positive for pregnancy with two lines.

I wanted to take her for a prenatal check-up, but she slapped me, angrily claiming I was trying to use radiation to kill her dragon prince.

No matter how I pleaded, she refused to go.

Feeling helpless, I went for the check-up alone.

Months later, I gave birth to a stillborn baby.

However, both the mother-in-law and her baby were safe.

From that moment on, I became the nanny for her and my father-in-law, living a dog's life.

Surprisingly, it was only when I was dying of cancer that I learned the child I saw every day was actually my own son.

I opened my eyes again, and I was reborn to the moment I had just become pregnant.

"Oh, dear daughter-in-law, this is wonderful news!"

My mother-in-law Tracy exclaimed, and her face creased with laughter.

"I dreamed that a real dragon entered my belly last night. It seems our family will have a dragon prince!"

She pulled me by the hand, laughing exaggeratedly, with spittle flying.

"Really? That's great!" I pretended to be overjoyed, spinning around several times.

In truth, I was just extremely excited to have been reborn.

I gently placed my hand on my small belly, feeling the unborn child.

Tracy had told me this in my previous life, saying that a dragon had entered her belly and the family would have a dragon prince.

Seeing how happy she was, I couldn't help but believe her a little.

From that day on, my father-in-law Wade and mother-in-law Tracy moved into my home, bringing my brother-in-law along.

When I suggested taking her for a check-up, she flew into a rage.

She jumped up and slapped me, angrily shouting, "No one ever got checked when pregnant in the past!"

Hospitals are all scams! TV said those things have radiation. You must want to kill my dragon prince!"

Seeing her ruthless gaze, I dared not persuade her further and could only go for the check-up alone.

My husband George was dispatched abroad and couldn't come back.

We could only communicate by phone, but Tracy took my phone away, hiding it under the pretext that radiation was bad for the child.

As the days passed, my belly grew large like a balloon.

Every day, I could feel the baby kicking, so lively.

Strangely, Tracy's belly also grew large, but without any fetal movement.

"Tracy, we should still go to the hospital for a check. You're so far along. It would give peace of mind," I suggested.

Tracy pushed me ruthlessly.

"I'm carrying my dragon prince! Can human doctors understand? You're not trying to go to the hospital to steal my son's fortune, are you?"

She walked around cradling her unmoving, no longer growing belly, her face beaming.

When I went into labor, my husband George still hadn't returned. I was pushed alone into the delivery room.

But when I woke from anesthesia, the doctor said I had given birth to a stillborn.

I froze on the spot, unable to react for a long time.

The prenatal checks had all been normal, and he was still kicking my belly just yesterday. How could he be stillborn?

As I stood stunned, Tracy burst back home, cradling her newborn son and boastfully showing him off to me.

"I told you hospitals harm people, but you still didn't believe me. Now you see, your son became nourishment for my son and died!"

Just out of childbirth, I was extremely fragile, both physically and mentally. Hearing her words, I hemorrhaged and fainted.

When I awoke, the doctor informed me I could no longer have children.

This was a bolt from the blue.

I stumbled to find Tracy, but Tracy grabbed my hair, yanking out a chunk, blood flowing, but I didn't even have the strength to cry out.

Before I had even recovered, Tracy forcibly discharged me, not wanting to waste too much money on me, even though the money spent was from the living expenses George sent.

Without the child, I lost all my spirit, becoming the family's servant to be used at will.

Later, from overwork and only being able to eat rotten food, I developed stomach cancer.

They told George, who sent huge treatment fees every month, but they embezzled it all, leaving me to die in the storeroom at home.

Before I died, Tracy mercifully told me, "Actually, your son isn't dead."

"He's just calling me mom now!"

"Your son stole my son's fortune to live. Since I lost my son, you have to compensate me with yours!"

Seeing her speak so shamelessly, I felt my heart and gall split.

It turned out my son wasn't dead. He had been living in front of me all along, but we couldn't be recognized.

"Ah... ah!"

I was too sick to speak but struggled ceaselessly, wanting to fight them.

Wade came up behind me and said, "Tracy, should we tell George his wife died?"

Tracy glared at him.

"What's there to say? Wait until we get more money. Do you think raising your son is free?"

Seeing their malicious faces, I wished I could fight them to the death, but could only lie helplessly on the filthy bed, unsettled in death.
