Damn Husband, Don’t Even Think About Remarrying!
Chapter 2
I left the bar and got into my car.
My emotions were a mix of resentment and resignation.
At least I didn't have to be heartbroken, nor was I left to make a hangover remedy for Chris after he'd brushed me off with a few words.
Nor did I have to clean up his messes when he made headlines with another woman, paying off people to keep things quiet.
Suddenly, I felt a jolt from behind.
I was rear-ended.
Before I could get out, the driver hurried out to apologize.
"Sorry, miss, I didn't mean to do it."
"Let's go through insurance," I replied, stepping out of the car.
Immediately, a black Hummer pulled up beside me.
A man in a suit, elegant and refined, leaned out of the window.
His features were sharp, especially those captivating blue eyes.
He was Brad Watson. He was the young sir of the Watson family, the foremost of the four great families of Mayby City.
Oscar's favorite grandson, personally groomed as the heir.
Ordinarily, someone from a lesser background like me wouldn't know Brad.
But he often hung out with Chris.
Tonight, Brad was also at the bar catching cheaters.
Brad casually asked me,
"What's up?"
"Rear-ended."
"Get in the car, I'll have someone handle the rest."
His commanding tone was always that of a leader.
I glanced at him, nodded, opened the car door, and got in.
Even sitting in the passenger seat and some distance away from him, I could feel the oppressive aura emanating from Brad.
Chris was afraid of him.
He said that Brad, whom he used to know, was a terrible person. Only after Oscar sent him abroad for a few years did he change drastically.
I didn't understand why someone of Brad's stature would associate with Chris.
"It's tough, huh?
"You actually no need to be too upset. Chris is just too young. He'll mature in a few years," Brad suddenly said.
I turned my head, a smile playing on my lips.
"Does Chris know you drove me home?"
"What?"
Brad looked at me, confused.
I bluntly exposed Brad.
"Mr. Watson, the one who messaged me to catch a cheater was you, right?"
I added, "Please don't deny it; that lighter of yours is one-of-a-kind, pure gold."
"You know me well," he said.
Brad didn't feel ashamed; instead, he laughed openly.
"I can't stand his attitude."
"So, you ratted him out!" I looked at Brad.
Chris would never have guessed that the one stabbing him in the back was his so-called best friend, Brad.
Brad just smiled and said nothing.
The car drove on, not in the direction of my house.
Brad stopped the car in front of a villa.
"Chris suggested you try being with someone else. How about trying with me?"
His eyes were seductive, boldly inviting me.
"Sure."
I chuckled and hooked my arm around Brad's neck.
His large hand reached out, grabbing my waist and lifting me against him.
Brad carried me like a child into the villa.
On the way, Brad couldn't resist and bent down to kiss me.
His kiss was domineering and possessive, biting painfully.
