Contract Marriage: The Magical Love of the Debtor Groom
Chapter 3
I suddenly remembered the tattoo on the back of my neck and quickly pulled my collar to cover it.
They all looked surprised when they saw it. The woman leading them, Gianna Carter, frowned.
“Miss Carter, that golden tattoo; isn’t it the one I know about?”
Isla was great in many ways, but she had peculiar tastes. She insisted on tattooing a golden pattern on the back of my neck. I always thought it was a mark of the Turner family’s servant.
This had upset me for a long time, and I usually kept my collar pulled up to cover it. It had accidentally been exposed during the scuffle.
“Are you the person Isla has been searching for?” Gianna asked.
“No, I don’t know the person you’re talking about,” I instinctively denied.
“I heard that kid was raised in the Turner residence since childhood, very mysterious. Running into him here, maybe he’s been abandoned. Why not come with us? He’s handsome.”
Gianna immediately stopped them.
“Gianna Carter, you’re not interested in this kid, are you? Why stop us?”
“I brought you out, so I don’t want you getting into trouble. This golden mark from the Turner family isn’t given to just anyone. Everyone knows this guy isn’t an ordinary person to Isla. Don’t do anything stupid.”
Gianna Carter, I didn’t expect the heir of the Carter family to appear here.
The group found it boring and quickly ended the banquet.
The manager, nodding and bowing, sent the young ladies off but didn’t forget to glare at me.
I walked up to Gianna.
“Thank you, Miss Carter, for helping me out. Please keep this a secret, although there may not be much to keep secret.”
Gianna nodded, looking into the distance and sighed.
“You’re hiding here? Do you need my help?”
“No, thank you. I’m doing fine.” Gianna seemed to think I had misunderstood her. She wasn’t offering money but asking if I’d be in trouble if found.
I thought the Turner family had long given up on me.
A few days later, the young ladies returned to Evolle City, and I remained unbothered. I was completely at ease.
The ski resort owner didn’t care about status or background.
He seemed to think I had offended some rich kids and made things difficult for me daily.
One day, the boss announced that a big shot from Evolle City had booked the entire resort for the next day, so it would be temporarily closed.
I felt a bit uneasy and quickly took leave from the owner, deciding to hide at home.
When I woke up in the morning, I had a foreboding feeling, and my intuition to pack up and stay in the town for a few days grew stronger.
Before I could finish packing, the boss called, asking me to come back and deal with a guest.
I thought, "If it’s a blessing, it’s not a curse; if it’s a curse, it can’t be avoided." So I went.
At the hotel, the boss hurried me to a suite. Seeing the bodyguards at the door, I felt like crying.
I pretended to turn casually, but before I could start running, I was grabbed and taken into the suite.
Seeing my teary expression, the boss thought I had made a mistake and was about to disassociate himself from me but was dragged out before he could speak.
The person across from me turned around.
I hadn’t seen her in two years, and she was still as beautiful as ever.
She exuded an aura of unapproachability, silent and clearly unhappy.
Her face, which rarely smiled, was cold at that moment.
I shivered as I greeted her, “Hello, Miss Turner.”
