Breaking Off Marriage with a Disgusting Scumbag!
Chapter 2
With swollen and red eyes, I started to handle the funeral arrangements for Grandma.
Grandma loved peace and simplicity. She instructed me to bury her under the big tree in the mountains behind the village. After cremation, she wanted to rest in peace and be accompanied by the tree.
I chose a good spot and made a grave for Grandma.
Reluctantly, I placed Grandma's ashes into the grave and stood there for a long time.
As I was about to leave, bam!
Heard screeching tires followed by high heels clacking on the pavement as someone got outta their car.
"This land is a prime piece of real estate. If we prioritize its development, we're sure to make a huge profit!"
Abbie rocked a white dress and sunglasses, giving off boss lady vibes.
Matt standing next to her. I hadn't seen him in days.
I tried to dodge them, but Matt spotted me first.
He came to a halt, the smile fading from his face and a frown creasing his brow.
"Mona Morris, what are you doing here?"
Grandma's grave was nearby, and her hometown was not far from here.
I had told Matt multiple times that I wanted to bring him to meet Grandma, my only relative in this world, but he always declined.
He had never met Grandma. Naturally, he didn't know why I was there.
I didn't want to waste my time with him. As I was about to leave, Abbie stopped me.
She has a bright and confident smile, with a hint of pride and provocation.
"Mona, to be honest, I'm a little embarrassed to say this. My house had a power outage that night, and I was a bit scared, so Matt came to accompany me. But please don't misunderstand. We just talked about business matters."
Abbie was a suitable match for Matt.
They broke up three years ago, and Abbie went abroad to study. Upon her return, she assumed the position of vice president in the family business.
Addie's endorsements were visible on billboards in the streets and alleys, while her social media and various marketing accounts hailed her as an unstoppable force of strength.
But it was the same woman who should call someone else's boyfriend to accompany her when faced with a power outage at night.
Looking at the deliberately provocative Abbie in front of me, I sneered.
"Since you claim to be a strong woman, why pretend to be helpless? Are you a bitch?"
