Alpha's Tears after My Death
Chapter 3
The pain was unbearable. His indifference to my three-day absence was something I despised. His complete lack of concern for my whereabouts was something I despised. He showed zero concern and showed zero concern that I was out there, that his Luna was in danger.
His first love, Isolde, was the subject of our final argument three days before he passed away. I had no recollection of our last conversation.
His remarks, "You're just delusional," lingered in my mind.
"Am I crazy? You reconnected with her in secret, and I know it! Unfortunately, no one paid attention to the cries and screams.
I was about to lose it when that happened, so I went to stay with a friend for a few days and abandoned the pack house where the Luna and Alpha were supposed to live.
He continued to act as if I was irate, and there he was. I vanished for days because Reymond thought I was afraid to face him yet.
While I was taking notes, Isolde swung in unannounced, clad only in her nightgown.
"Alpha..." That she had a seductive voice was obvious. As she met his gaze, her own trembling lips matched his. I am frightened because a thunderstorm is predicted for tonight. Will you remain by my side?
On occasion, I noticed that Reymond's fist would clench and release, as if he were attempting to control his libido. It was so contemptible, and it happened even when I was in my spirit form. He had been clearly enticed.
Isolde, I am mated. Visiting your room is inconvenient for me.
"But you can come to the pack house," he added, just as I was beginning to believe he was displaying some common sense. This is not her home.
Something about what she heard shocked even Isolde. Peer at these creatures. Are you certain, Alpha? Imagine if she reappears out of nowhere. We would be at a loss for words.
A snort escaped my lips. She was completely aware of her actions, yet she pretended not to know anything. My body would only move through the air if I tried to tug on her hair right this second.
I was definitely dead, you know.
Reymond wanted to know, "What's important for us to convey to her?" You are a part of the Moon Howlers, and this is my pack. She doesn't have the last say.
It was clear from his voice alone that he was very confident. The desire to exact revenge nearly made me want to prolong my stay. "If only I could intervene unilaterally. Plus, she has no intention of returning.
"How do you know?" Isolde inquired after a brief period of silence and a furrowed brow as she heard that. A trace of anxiety was audible in her voice.
After a moment of self-awareness, she blurted out, "I mean, did Aurelia get mad at you again?"
"Yeah, on the celebration of our 10th year of meeting each other, I told her I was going to see you, but she got angry." With a sigh, he tousled his hair.
Take a look at this naive Alpha. On the strength of his little brain, he was able to take the lead? His infidelity was staring me in the face; how could I remain calm? I thought it was perfectly acceptable to feel that way.
"It's really annoying. Even though we're already mated, she never stops being suspicious! Even though I made her Luna, she still thinks it's not enough! Isolde, I am not like you. Over the years, you've endured a great deal without ever once grumbling. Right now, I should be saying sorry to you.
The sound of his voice nearly made me laugh. After having sexual relations with another woman, no rational person would return to their first love to celebrate a decade of marriage. It is ironic that they celebrated my death on the same day. It sank so deeply into my being that it enraged me to the point of rage.
Are you intending to honor my passing or celebrate your anniversary next year with Isolde, Reymond?
I seriously doubt he would pick me.
--- The woman practically leaped into the arms of the Alpha as soon as he locked the bedroom door as soon as they arrived at the pack house. "Alpha, it's so dark and creepy outside, I'm freaking out!"
When I saw that appalling scene, I had to suppress a cringe. Every night was pitch black, and I'd never seen her so terrified.
As a comforting gesture, Reymond embraced her and patted her on the back. "Don't worry, I'm here." He was actually buying into the she-wolf's performance.
He proudly displayed the emergency candles he had purchased, evidently intended to soothe her anxiety. "With these, even if the power goes out in a storm, we'll still have light," said he.
Isolde rested her head on his shoulder and let out a sigh. "My dear Alpha, you're my hero."
Somehow, I was able to observe them behaving in this manner. Had this been their practice from the beginning? I would never dream of asking! Without a doubt... Where did I get the idea? Even though they would plainly act badly, they would simply stare at one other.
As the sun began to set and Isolde knew she needed to get some rest, she stomped into my bathroom, locked the door behind her, and proceeded to irresponsibly plunder my belongings. Every step she took was as confident as if she were Luna from the Moon Howlers Pack.
She didn't bother to replace the caps correctly after she was done, leaving everything in a disarray.
A small laugh escaped her lips. "Oh, Aurelia won't mind, she's not coming back anyway."
Transparently, I observed Isolde in the mirror. As lightning flashed, a figure appeared on the floor as thunder rumbled outside. There it was—my image, flashed before her eyes, and I could swear I looked savage and furious.
Isolde was taken aback to the point of stunning at that very moment, and before I knew it, she was yelling for my mate in a panic.
Reymond sprang into action like a hero as soon as he heard the piercing screams, rushing in to protect her from the terrifying creature.
Reymond, would you harm me in this state as well?
"What transpired?" Are you in any pain?
With muttering, Isolde quavered under his weight, No, no. Perhaps this is too dangerous, I simply thought. What if your spouse decides to drop by...
But Reymond did nothing more than shrug. "I don’t know."
The icy light of the lightning pierced his vision as he lifted his eyes to the sky. She has no authority to speak, even if she did. We would still be together today if she hadn't caused you to abandon me so long ago.
After the alpha kissed the woman on the forehead and let out a sigh, the woman began to relax. She is not a concern for you. I will not allow her to harm you in any way. She is completely unimportant to me.
It is my intention to grant your wish, my beloved Alpha. I hope you maintain your apathy and lack of concern until the end.
