Alpha's Tears after My Death
Chapter 4
The Consul continued to hammer me with his case at the Moon Howlers Pack in the wee hours of the morning. In the middle of the gathering, Beta Harry requested a brief recess. Reason enough for Reymond to go get a sandwich.
As an elder poked fun at him, she asked, "How's it going being a mated Alpha without having a decrease in the number of she-wolves interested in you?" Alpha, you should let us handle some women. "Speaking of, how is Luna Aurelia?" the elder man asked with a hearty laugh. She dropped off your midnight snack, didn't she?"
My name made Reymond's face turn black, and he dropped his sandwich on the table. "Why even mention her? "It's horrible."
Close by, Harry could feel the tension, but he was just as intrigued. "Alpha, I'm curious as well. We haven't seen the Luna for quite some time. Whenever you pulled an all-nighter, she would show up with snacks.
Reymond merely glanced in his direction. The point of eating all those snacks is to fill your stomach, right? Is your hunger still burning?
After hearing him out, Harry's face became grave. "I mean, come on, is Luna all right? Has she... vanished?
At that, Reymond let out a snort. Is something missing? It is likely that she is currently attempting to cool off. That woman is like an obnoxious puppy; she never fails to infuriate me. I mean, she hasn't said a word in two days, so why do we keep bringing her up?
I grinned from the sidelines. My dear Alpha, you would no longer be subject to my persistent nagging, would you? Wow, that's great news! If this man knew the truth about my death, I'd bet he'd celebrate.
The alpha! We found out who the victim was, Alpha Reymond! A pack healer stormed in, his expression a hideous jumble of feelings. His message seemed like it might cause a global upheaval.
Harry took the initiative to approach the pack healer first. "I think Alpha Reymond needs to know first..."
Looked up, perplexed, was Reymond. "Why should it be me? Please inform my Beta first, as he is responsible for supervising all aspects of this case. Just let him know.
The pack healer drew nearer to the Beta's ear and spilled the beans, seemingly compelled to comply with orders.
In that very moment, Harry's face shifted from a look of astonishment to one of intense seriousness. "W-What... Are you sure?"
He was disappointed to see that the healer merely nodded to indicate agreement.
The beta As he inquired, "Have you been in touch with the Luna lately?" Harry looked into the pack leader's bloodshot eyes.
Despite his confusion, Reymond explained, "Yes, she even talked to me using our mindlink a few days ago." It was as though he was reliving every detail of our past interactions.
Some days? How many days has passed since then?
For Reymond, it all became clear when Harry posed that question. The dawn of realization caused my mate's eyes to widen. With shaking hands, he leaped out of his chair. "What do you mean?"
