After the Miscarriage, I Divorced My Scumbag Husband! Chapter 1

When my seven-month-old baby died in the womb, my husband, Ethan Davis, went missing.

I had to handle my son's funeral alone, feeling weak and frail.

The next day, I saw Jessie Wilson, Ethan's female student's Instagram.

"I am so lucky to have met such a warm mentor in my life. The graduation trip was perfect because of you. How can I repay you?"

The photo showed the two of them gazing lovingly into each other's eyes against the backdrop of the setting sun.

When I realized something was wrong with the fetal movement, it was raining and storming, and I couldn't catch a taxi to the hospital.

I called Ethan's phone 19 times before it finally went through.

"Dear, the baby is moving so much today. Can you come back with me to the hospital? I'm so scared of the baby..."

I curled up into a ball, hugging myself, shivering despite being covered with a blanket.

I hadn't finished speaking when a female voice interrupted me.

"Is that Ms. Cora Taylor? I accidentally got Mr. Davis's clothes dirty while doing an experiment. He's taking a shower now. I'll ask him to call you back when he comes out."

The doorbell rang, and the ambulance arrived.

I didn't have time to think about what was wrong with her words and quickly went to open the door.

Lying on the ambulance, Ethan finally called me back.

However, his tone was extremely impatient.

"Cora, can you stop being so delicate every day? Which woman would act as annoying as you when getting pregnant?

"Even if you're not feeling well, why don't you just go to the hospital yourself? I'm not a doctor!"

Even with oxygen, I still felt a sense of suffocation.

I couldn't believe that was something Ethan would say.

"Cora, I still have an experiment waiting for data, so don't bother me with trivial things!"

Before I could gather my breath to respond, a familiar female voice called him in a coquettish tone.

"Mr. Davis, could you get me my towel...?"

In a rush of hurried footsteps, Ethan hung up the phone.

I recognized his footsteps.

So, the safety of our baby was considered trivial, but providing a female student with a towel was a major issue that needed immediate attention?

Feeling heartbroken, I became increasingly anxious.

I tried my best to regulate my breathing, as I didn't want my baby to be affected by my emotions.

After the checkup, the emergency doctor ordered people to send me to the operating room immediately.

"Hurry! Call Dr. Gray. This operation can only be done by her with a chance of success!"

I didn't give up and continued to call Ethan, but he had turned off his phone.

It was ridiculous that I seemed to hear his voice after signing the surgery consent form.

"Why should the doctor cancel our appointment after we have an appointment?

"We are all patients, and the hospital is not just one obstetrician. It's totally unfair for the patient lying in the operating room to hog all the medical resources like that!"

The fetal monitoring data on the instrument was getting worse and worse.

And the familiar noise outside the door was getting louder and louder.

But Dr. Gray, who was supposed to operate on me, didn't come in for a long time.

I couldn't hold back my pain and fainted when I heard the name, Jessie Wilson.

After the anesthesia wore off, the bright lights were so dazzling that I couldn't open my eyes.

Dazed, I only saw the doctor bow deeply to a baby with purple skin.

I rubbed my eyes and struggled to see the baby's condition, but the nurse gently held me back, saying, "Ms. Taylor, I'm sorry. We tried our best, but the baby was delivered without breath. Please accept our condolences."

At that moment, something seemed to explode in my head.

Maybe they felt sorry for me, and under my persistence, they let me have a close look at my son for the last time.

He had been connected to me by blood for seven months, and he looked very much like Ethan in his facial features.

But he never opened his eyes to see this world before leaving me.

The last second's fetal movement seemed to be there, but his body was already cold.

The nurse pushed me all the way back to the delivery room, and the crying of the babies pierced my heart.

The noise before the surgery and the words of the midwife kept echoing in my ears.

Tears flowed like an opened dam.

"Is Dr. Gray the one who operated on me?"

My question made the nurse embarrassed.

"Dr. Gray was involved in the operation in the second half..."

I took out my phone and showed a photo of Ethan and Jessie.

"Were they the ones who caused trouble?"

The nurse looked at the photo and nodded vigorously.

She looked at me with pity and said, "Ms. Taylor, are they... your acquaintances?"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, saying, "The man is my husband."

The nurse was shocked and said something.

I was burning with anger at her words.

I suppressed my grief and continued to call and message Ethan, trying to find out what had happened and why he had left me and our baby alone.

Unfortunately, he blocked me, and all my emotional outbursts went unanswered.

He had killed his son and disappeared without a care.

After being discharged from the hospital, I dealt with our son's affairs alone with my weak body.

The next day, I saw Jessie's Instagram.

The photo showed the two of them gazing lovingly into each other's eyes against the backdrop of the setting sun.
