After Rebirth, I Matchmade My Wife and Her Ex-boyfriend

To the outside world, my three-year marriage to Nicole was a picture of perfect harmony. In reality, we shared no intimacy. Her heart belonged entirely to her cancer-stricken ex-boyfriend, Scott Clark, and she had only wed me out of sheer necessity. Chapter 2

I didn't want to talk nonsense, so I hung up the phone and clicked on the video she sent me.

In the video, Scott was receiving chemotherapy drugs, looking listless and pale. Nicole fed him soup and wiped his sweat, taking care of him meticulously.

I laughed. What did she mean?

Was she expressing Scott's pain at this moment?

Or she was expressing her true feelings for Scott?

When I was sick, she never fed me, let alone wiped my sweat.

In my previous life, I tried my best to understand her, to move her, and I sympathized with Scott's pain from cancer.

It seemed as if I should bear all of it!

It was so unfair!

They didn't understand my pain at all, and they always asked me to do things.

Scott was not my relative or friend, and I had no obligation or responsibility to pay for his misery.

I turned on the computer and drafted the Divorce Agreement.

Then I sent it to Nicole.

[Nicole, I used to love you like a madman without reservation, but you were blind and couldn't see it. I don't know why you're so cold. It's been three years, and I no longer fantasize about moving you. Let's get a divorce. I'm not the one who can make you happy. I'll be more sensible and stop accompanying you. Please take a look at the divorce agreement. If there is no problem, I will print it. We get a divorce as soon as possible.]

Half an hour later, she still didn't reply to me. I guessed she was busy taking care of Scott.

I remembered something very important and immediately drove to my mother's house.

On the way, Nicole called and said she wanted to talk.

"I don't have time to talk to you right now."

She heard me driving and asked, "Where are you going?"

"Go to my mother's house." Then, I hung up the phone.

My mother was confused to see me and asked, "Didn't you say you were going to your father-in-law's house for dinner? Why are you here?"

"Mom, I miss you." I threw myself into my mother's arms and burst into tears.

In my previous life, my mother had stomach cancer, but she kept it a secret from me because she was afraid it would bring trouble to my wife and me.

When she was in pain, she took painkillers.

Until her deathbed, she held my hand tightly, smiled and told me not to be sad and not to tell Nicole, for fear of delaying Nicole's work.

My mother took out her bank card tremblingly, told me the password, and said that she had deposited some money for Nicole and asked me to buy a car for Nicole.

This was all saved by her frugal life.

My mother didn't want to disturb Nicole and me until her death, and she endured the pain of illness alone.

In contrast, Scott always called Nicole and said that he was going to die.

Scott would post videos of himself lying in a hospital bed, suffering various painful drug treatments, to his Ins, and would add some quotes.

He let his friends pity, sympathize with and admire his strong will.

But the videos were all illusions. In real life, he was lazy and fragile. He asked Nicole for help with washing clothes, cooking, buying daily necessities, and even receiving express deliveries for him.

Scott's neighbors all thought that Nicole and Scott were a couple.

I also thought that they were more like a couple. And I was just a passerby.

"Why are you crying? What happened?" My mother asked, touching my head with concern.
