Chapter 3

"Nothing." I wiped my tears and said, "I just missed you too much."

My mother smiled, "If you miss me, come and see me more often."

"Yeah!" I nodded heavily.

"I'm going to cook. Just wait for me." My mother tied on an apron and went into the kitchen.

Fast food was on the table.

In order to buy a car for Nicole, my mother herself couldn't bear to eat good food.

Soon, my mother came out with dishes. She would only add more dishes when I, or Nicole and I came together.

We finished dinner.

Despite my mother's objections, I made an appointment with a specialist at the best cancer hospital on my mobile phone.

In my previous life, Nicole told me a lot about what happened to Scott after he got cancer, which gave me a wealth of medical knowledge.

After agreeing with my mother on a time to see the doctor, I left.

As soon as I got in the car, I saw Nicole appear with some fruit.

In the car.

Nicole said she wanted to go upstairs to see my mother, but I said my mother didn't have the energy to entertain her.

She frowned, very unhappy, and wondering why I was so abnormal.

In my previous life, I never mentioned divorce until I died. I was always a good man and let her do whatever she wanted.

"We can talk about what's going on with you." She tried to figure out my psychological change.

"About what? About you marrying me unwillingly? About you not letting me touch you for three years? Or about you still loving your ex-boyfriend?" I said sarcastically.

"When did you become so unreasonable? You weren't like this before." She was surprised.

"People change," I said calmly.

She bit her lip, clenched her palms, and turned her face to the side. Even though I only saw her side face, I could feel her suppressing anger.

In the three years we'd been married, the only time she'd been happy or sad was when she was talking about Scott.

When I told her about my story, she just had a cold face and looked stiff.

Her angry expression was rarely seen in my previous life.

"You make me feel so strange," She said sadly.

I drove to a nearby printing shop, printed out the Divorce Agreement and handed it to her. "Since you haven't replied to me yet, I'll take it as your consent. Let's meet in front of the law firm at 9 a.m. tomorrow."

In this life, I wanted to get rid of Nicole and live a wonderful life. First, I would cure my mother's illness, take her to travel around the country after she was cured, and then find a wife who understands me and have a baby.

I'd be happy in the future.

The owner of the printing shop looked at me strangely, thinking, "Was he getting divorced or married? Why was he so happy?"

I couldn't help but smile.

We walked out of the print shop.

She suddenly said, "Do you want to divorce me because I rejected you last night? If so, please give me some more time..."

I asked her for sex last night but she rejected me.

To be exact, it was me who was rejected in my previous life.

"Nicole, my head hurts so much, and I feel nauseous. Where are you? Come to me quickly." Scott called her.

I couldn't help it any longer, so I snatched her phone. "If you have a headache, go to the doctor. If you feel sick, go to the toilet and vomit. Nicole is not your wife. You can not call her whenever you want. Just bear it for a while. After she and I complete the divorce procedures, I will personally take you both to the church."

Nicole snatched the phone angrily and said nervously, "Victor is joking. Wait for me. I will come to you soon."

By the time she hung up the phone, I was already in the car.

She was so shameless that she asked me to take her to Scott's house.

I refused. After a moment of silence, she said, "I'll go to Scott's house first and come back to make it up to you in the evening."

Watching her anxiously stopping a taxi and leaving, I felt calm.

In her heart, Scott was always the most important.

I meant nothing to her.

Looking back on my previous life, I felt I was such a coward!

At 11 o'clock in the evening, she came back exhausted, took a shower, and went to bed. I turned my back to her. And she called me softly, "Are you asleep?"

I ignored her and pretended to be asleep.

I heard the rustle of her taking off her clothes behind me, and then a hot body pressed against my back, and I felt the warmth of her lips on my neck...
