After Marrying My Enemy, I Ran Away!
Chapter 5
"Laurant, you don't want everyone to know about your sneaky reading of banned books, do you?"
I hadn't even caught my breath, but I threatened him triumphantly.
But he was not afraid at all, instead he calmly said, "Monica, you come here for extra lessons just to become my prince's consort. I am pleased."
Following his gaze, that book was about to fly out of my sleeve.
Laurant also said that this time he especially came to the bookstore to buy books, so that we could study together after we got married.
His face was too thick, I was speechless and could only go home angrily.
My father was to be waiting for me at the gate.
"Good girl, I know you can't wait to get married, after all, you haven't married the prince yet, so as a girl, you should be reserved and mindful."
I didn't understand my father's meaning until evening.
It turned out that my brother saw the scene of me and Laurant arguing in the bookstore.
He exaggeratedly reported it to my father.
My father thought it was a little romantic thing between me and Laurant, so he deliberately reminded me.
I blushed and didn't sleep all night, listening to the sound of trumpets and getting on the sedan chair with heavy dark circles under my eyes.
Finally, I couldn't hold back at the wedding ceremony and fainted directly.
In the last second before losing consciousness, I saw a man in wedding clothes picking me up like a god.
When I opened my eyes again, all I saw was white.
There was a lot of noise outside the bridal chamber, "Quick, call the doctor to come and diagnose!"
"The Crown Princess is fine, she just fainted from being too excited today. She will be fine after resting for a while," said Laurant.
"I heard that the Crown Princess played outside happily before getting married. I saw her going in and out of those places a few days ago. She fainted on this joyous day. Could it be...?"
The one speaking was my lifelong enemy Rose. Her father was the current Grand Marshal and had always been at odds with my father in the court. Even my good reputation outside was mostly said by her.
She had loved Laurant since she was young, and this was a well-known secret in our sister circle.
So I was not surprised that she could say such things without any hesitation.
I put on my shoes and socks and pushed open the door. "She didn't say it wrong, I am indeed pregnant."
I am pregnant.
